Just found you guys! I'm located in Norfolk, VA and I'm riding a 2012 Monster 1100 evo. I'm always down to ride, so if you're in the area hit me up.
welcome to the board. make sure and check out the local clubs section for folks in your area.
Welcome! Saw your post on the Hampton Roads thread at CAM. Will be interesting to see whether anyone bites. That thread is about as dead as the Richmond thread although there are plenty of Ducatis in Central VA.
On the 2nd Sunday of each month ~ 9 - 11 AM a large and mixed group of riders gather at Poe's Pub in Richmond for "Bikes in the Bottom". Early in the season, depending on weather, I've seen quite a few Ducatis from your area, mostly sport rather than Monsters. They must ride up together. If you can find that group, you may find people who go at your pace. Try the BMW dealer down there as well as Redline. The Euro bikes tend to stick together.
The same is true of Richmond. The local BMW club scoops up the Ducatis and Triumphs. Weird... I'm 30 miles west of Richmond and tend to hit the good roads between here and the Blue Ridge Parkway but do ride into "Bikes in the Bottom" for brunch sometimes. It's not a great ride for me but the vintage bikes gathered can be pretty interesting sometimes.
Thanks for the info! Yeah, I think the Redline crew does that Poe's Pub run. I'm gonna have to check with them when I pick up some new stuff on Tuesday. I know there are Monsters in the area (I've seen two and a hyper for sure), just gotta figure a way to get a hold of them. I saw a sick Yellow sport classic the other day as well.
Saw a black newer Monster passing the Rose & Crown in New Kent Courthouse when I was there last summer for a Bentley Drivers Club/RROC brunch, so there may be a few more in the Williamsburg area as well. Only seen a couple out this way but moving, so no chance to chat and hook up. You never know...
Welcome to the DMF. i am sure you will enjoy this site, lots of good info, lots of great people.
