I'm not sure they are chrome though - maybe more brushed aluminum.....

Pretty sure it's the city model.
both the 2001 metallics and the cromo tanks, no?
you can TRY this part number: 43510951AA, (looks like $65) and look up online and/or ask your dealer.

Chromo has the raised 'brushed' I linked to, don't they.
I thought about the 2002 750 Dark Blue metallic, but the computer says no.... (part catalog calls them 'light')
the only link I saw was to a sticker... like to put on your tool box.
1999 Cromo, flat stickers. 2001 Cromo, raised grey plastic.
43510951AA says for Sticker "DUCATI" for Black Metallic, Night Metallic Blue.
I don't see Metallic Orange. I never saw this orange other that at the show, so........
this is a 2004 M800 that was at the IMS Show that year.

Do the letters come off like the original or are they attached as one sticker? The photo from the apparel catalog ones look like one sticker with a clear backing.

That should be enough to cover many scratches ;D
Are they 'brushed' silver or chrome?
they are individual letters that are exactly the same size and shape as the decals used for the same era. you can stick the letters over the original tank decals, as this bike i need them for has had done. tank is damaged and needs them replaced as part of the repair.
i brought a set of these awhile back from proitalia. Wasnt impressed and never stuck them on, they looked kinda gay and plasticy fake chrome like to me... i think they looked better in the pictures unfortunately :-\
anyone else have pics of them in use? wondering what colours they were originally with, ie frame/tank/wheels.
OK they are in sticker form and plastic, they have a chrome finish and yesterday I tried the small size sticker on a piece of metal and I can confirm that they sick like sh*t to a blanket... [thumbsup]

Went into the store today and can confirm that the 15cm chrome ducati sticker is the same size and spacing as the old style monster tank badge but the new style monster has the same size letters but the spacing is alittle closer, if you look at the Diavel tank badge you'll see that its the same size as the sticker but a slightly different surface finish.

as in a 2000 model? are the latters individual or joined? how thick are the letters (as in stand off the tank)?
i got some 981546020 in, and they're different. letter aren't as thick, don't appear to be as shiny (haven't opened the bag) and they don't have nice rounded edges. worth a try though.
I had some stickers made by a signwriting company that had a machine for cutting vinyl lettering. Can't recall seeing shiny chrome but a wide range of colours were available, and several thicknesses. I just took in a magazine pic with what I wanted and it was scanned and bingo. You pay per sheet, about a metre square, and you can squash in as many letters and shapes as will fit.
Otherwise model hobby shops have a really good paint selection - paint the letters you have.
I've had several stripe kits made by Rod at Cutgrafix (http://cutgrafix.com/ (http://cutgrafix.com/)) and his work is pretty much [clap]. Comes from Aus but well worth the wait. If you want, PM me and I'll send you his contact details. If the color scheme you want isn't listed on his site, he can still make it he might be able to make you decals thicker than stock so they are raised a bit.
Just received a carbon fiber S4R race kit and he made a gunmetal stripe kit for me not too long ago.
Hey Brad, Motografix couldn't help?

They had full 1992 SL 900 kit on their computer.
i needed specific parts for a crash repair that were shown on the first page, but thanks for all suggestions.
