Title: Greetings from New York
Post by: foggy916 on February 19, 2012, 09:35:07 AM
My name is Gary and I am a long-time Ducati enthusiast living about 20 miles north of NYC on the Hudson. I recently bought a low mileage '02 S4 Fogarty to replace my outgoing 93 Mark I Superlight. I've owned a custom 250, 350, 750SS, 750M, Darmah SS, 916, Superlight and F1B. I'm looking forward to tapping into the Monster knowledge base on this forum.

welcome!

Sounds like you have quite a pedigree of ownership, including the Foggy.

What did you do with the SL?

Welcome indeed!  ;) Think you have me beat. Still have the F1? Always wanted a Montjuic... [leo]

The Superlight went to a fine man in Cincinnati. He'd been looking for 4 years and I am quite pleased it went to him.

As for the F1, yes I still have it but have spent the last year sourcing electrical gremlins. Plan on replacing on/off switch, hi-lo beam switch, ignition switch, ignition pickups and ignition boxes at some point. Other than that, they are wonderful motorcycles albeit a little compact for taller people. However, I am a glutton for punishment and rode a 916 from NY to Montana and back across Canada in 6 weeks. The Montjuich is head and shoulders above the standard F1 in terms of performance, but even the base F1 is a special breed. Thanks for the warm welcome. Many foolish questions to follow!

What did you use for the replacement pickups?

Have you tried the Electrex aftermarket pickups?  I have them in my Alazzurra and they work very well with the upgraded mil-spec wiring I used.
