Title: Hey gents from las Vegas
Post by: mano1192 on February 19, 2012, 11:54:08 AM
Hi guys,

I've been a street rider for about a year now. Riding and racing dirt since I was a kid, and had several friends pass away during high school I decided to wait until I knew I was mature enough to handle street (read I have a speed complex.. Not that kind of speed  [roll]).

I've always loved the clean look of nakeds and Ducati was a long time favorite of mine. Last year I bought a 2011 Yamaha FZ8, what a perfect bike to start on! I ended up modding the hell out of it including PCV, exhaust, and custom tuned at Dynojet HQ here in Vegas.

I'm now ready to step up... Actually down in HP but up in class, that's for sure! I rally love the 1100 Evo, but with no dealer in town it will be hard to find a bike. For now I'm researching info on different models and looking for advice. I would also love the new 796, what a beautiful bike.

Being frm the 4 stroke dirt world Im in love with torque and a thumping exhaust that sounds like a macktruck. Ducs are where it's at in this department which really matches my riding style perfectly. I've got 2 kids and don't need to be d
owing 150 on the roads. But love twisted and acceleration.

Being that I use my bike as a daily commuter year round (yes even in 100 plus, with full gear on might I add) how will the aircooled monsters fair in this desert weather?

Another issue I would like advice on is with the fuel tank issue. If I do buy a new bike is there any way to guarantee that this never happens to my bike? I've read of coatings, but if I never add gass with ethanol this should never expand correct?

Im excited to be apart of the club and can't wait to find the right duc for me!

Cheers
Steve
