Hi everyone ( I've also posted this on the general board, but thought maybe someone local might have some info who doesn't check the general often)
I have scoured the web and cannot find any info on what I'm looking for, so I thought I'd ask the knowledgable folks that frequent this site.
I have just got some low mount cf termi's which originally came from an s4. I bought these knowing that they had what the previous owned referred to as non removable baffles.
Anyhow I decided to shorten the cans and whilst at I'd remove the baffles. When I opened them up I was surprised by what I found.

From what ive heard, although can't confirm, other termi's are straight through with a removable baffle however mine have 3 separate compartments (you can see where rivets hold two of the plates) with pipes linking the top and bottom, all within the perforated oval frame.
my questions are
1. Are my pipes some sort of euro spec pipes or EPA type approved? ( previous owner Believed this was the case) they have an "e" number on the end cap
2. How are normal oval termi's constructed? Ie is the perforated oval frame the actual pipe or is there a smaller pipe that runs through the centre of the frame, or is there usually no frame? I haven't seen any oval termi's disassembled, so I'm not sure.
If anyone has any info or pics, it would be most appreciated.
Thanks guys
Damo
Here is a pic of one of my cans below....3 month old Termi's. Picture doesnt show it but the perforated chamber runs straight through with no partitions.

Mine are just like Lukevo's, they're nearly two years old and straight through as well. Are you 100% they are genuine Termi's?
Thanks for the replies guys. [thumbsup]
I have seen quite a few round pipes in tutorials on how to shorten pipes etc, so I knew how they looked inside, just haven't seen the oval ones to compare mine to.
I'm 99.9% they are termi's, although I believe the insides are very similar to a stock can. End caps and sleeves are definitely termi though, and I have seen pictures of termi's in europe which have the same end caps and insides, just haven't seen the straight through oval type dismantled.
I'm hoping someone who has dismantled an oval pipe will see this and shed some light on it for me...
I ended up shortening the cans and removing the first compartment last night, can't wait to get home to see how it sounds... ;)
looks like stock cans from when i did my 916 cans
i do recall my mates 998 with stock pipes had the termi logo on them
so doesnt mean that they arent termis just not free flowing termis
dp sold listed termi "approved" mufflers for most models. not sure how many they actually sold. that's what they would be.
