Hi all,
My 2005 M620 is leaking oil from the oil filter when it's cold. Once the bike heats up, the leaks stops. What this means is that every time I start the bike, it'll leak a tablespoon or two of oil until the oil gets up to temperature. I read a bunch of threads here that say the first thing I should do is really tighten the filter.
I don't want to buy a special wrench since I'll be replacing the current filter with a K&N one next month for my scheduled oil change and those have a standard nut welded on them.
I was wondering if anyone in the NYC area has such a wrench that I can use to tighten the OEM filter? I would greatly appreciate the help.
Thanks!
If you come by early tomorrow, if not, end of next week.
Thanks Howie. No leaks since!
Great ;D
if howie is too far away, im on the other end of new york (brooklyn) glad to help if you are near my side! unless you mean you already did it! :P
Thanks He Man! Brooklyn is much closer (I go to school there) but I promptly rode up to Howie's and he helped me out. :)

This is a bit late to the party, but be sure to lube the o-ring before tightening to ensure a proper seal.

The filter was installed by a (snicker snicker) "qualified dealer''.
qualified to give you a pain in the ass.
