Title: Hello! New Monster Owner, from NorCal.
Post by: JumpMan on March 14, 2012, 01:35:11 PM
Hey Just got my bike about three weeks ago. It's a Monster 796, and it's my first bike. Looking forward to picking up some knowledge from long time monster owners and linking up with people to ride with.

Howdy,

Welcome. I mainly lurk here, but there are loads of good info and advice.

I too am in NorCal, and I was curious as to where you got your bike (dealer?). Additional financial surprises aside this spring  [roll], I should be getting my Monster in a few months and would like to hear your dealer exerience.

Thanks,
Tim

Hey TIm,

I picked up my bike from Munroe Motors in SF. The overall experience was ok at best. When I visited them to purchase a 796 they said there were no Black ones available, but after looking in the database the sales person said they actually just received on and it was in the back. I did all the paperwork and was real excited about my new bike come to find out that they made a mistake and sold me a bike that was already sold to someone else. So after that mixup I went home and was told that they would try to find a black 796 asap. They ended up finding one the next day. The sales guy was real enthusiastic before the sale but sort of stand offish after everything was complete. The day I went to pick up my bike it took me almost 5hours to get out of that place, while they were looking for all the send off Ducati material and helping other customers. It is my first bike and I am a new rider so before I took off  I expected a little more the there's where you check the oil and this is how you lock the wheel. Since the purchase didn't recieve any follow up at all, not even an email. My first service was due this weekend and I had Hattar Motorsports, San Rafael, pick up my bike. See how they do? Not going to go back to Munroe. Hope this helps.
