It is... green.
And it has a heat shield around the gauges, lest you burn yourself... on the gauges.
(And here's A&R's take: http://www.asphaltandrubber.com/bikes/ducati-monster-diesel/ (http://www.asphaltandrubber.com/bikes/ducati-monster-diesel/) )
I totally want that seat.
I really think I want one! I wasn't excited about the new Monsters, but I could see this one in the garage.
I like the shields on the cans...but to say the least, I am disapointed because I was hoping this was a bike that used Diesel fuel....was thinking that Ducati was making the leap from making a bike of performance to making one of super fuel economy since the Bulldog KLR project went nowhere...

+1. I'd have been much more impressed at that
I like it, but is it worth $1,800 more than the standard EVO? Maybe.

The green looks a lot different with some light on it.

The seat is awesome.

I agree - Diesel powered would have been even cooler
i like the look, but those plates over the air intakes have gotta mess up the breathing a bit... and once you get slip ons then you lose some of the styling you paid for.
The grills? Those aren't intakes. They are a feature to prevent the Ducati ding. You'll notice that at full steering lock the switch sets just *happen* to line up with those grills.

Don't forget the lid!
I'd have been much more impressed with a Diesel motor than a fashion bike. Oh well.
Love the seat!
Just something new for the hedge fund babies to use for parading in Soho, no? ;)

I just figured that upon seeing the name it cemented the idea of Audi buying Ducati as they had a TDI Monster coming out.
Was a bit disappointed to see it's an appearance thing.
Sounds more like a cross-branding exercise to sell apparel. Nothing new in terms of function (in fact, worse, since you would be stuck with the stock exhausts unless you want to lose the hokey heat shield you paid a premium for). A perfect vehicle to park in front of the Starbucks crowd.

Stupid [thumbsdown]
Next up...the Coach model. It'll come with a free purse man-bag
Forgive me for not being "up to speed" enough, but what IS "Diesel"?
Disregard, I see now that Diesel is a clothing line that is apparently way more hip than I am.
I shall now go put on my Levi's and call it good.
Now this is doing olive drab right:

Just when I thought that there was no way to make the new Monster any worse or less desireable... they launch what I consider to be the official douche-bag edition. I remember about 10 minutes in 2007 when Diesel was cool. Actually, I think they shared those same 10 minutes with Ed Hardy. So what's next? A tatooed hate-boy edition with a matching $90 t-shirt and bedazzled seat with buttoned pockets?

you do know audigier already did a custom monster (http://image.superstreetbike.com/f/motorcycle-reviews/ed-hardy-ducati-launch/16088036/ed-hardy-2009-ducati-monster.jpg), right? [puke]
:edit: for linky horribleness

[leo] hellloooooo jailbait
Love the styling, hate the co-branding.
I'm a douchebag [evil] I like the way it looks. It's the only newer gen Monster that's kept my attention for more than a second.
I like that they actually did some cool stuff to the bike, and not just a DIESEL logo like other branded Monsters of the past.
I think it's a million times better than any of the Zegna editions, those look plain dumb.
Meh.. [thumbsdown]
Looks like something OCC would do.
I do like the seat [thumbsup]
Seat is cool but that's about it for me. Looks like the bike Captain Italy would ride.
i like it, but wouldn't buy one.
dang it... i wish i knew mr. hayden was going to be at the launch :(
Love the looks ... I wonder if it will run vegetable bio diesel or [bacon] grease
excellent!
now I can get a pair of douchebag diesel/ducati jeans to go with my douchebag puma/ducati shoes.
I like it. It matches my AGV/Diesel Mohican helmet [thumbsup]
Yawn.
Nothing says irrelevant more than an Italian bike painted Army green. [roll]

Exactly my thought! I can tolerate pearl white, I like Ducati red and race yellow, I love the black.
Army green on a Ducati, not for me [thumbsdown]
The only think I liked in that bike is the seat.
...sooo, it runs on gas?
lame
Looks great. The first co branded bike I've liked.
I will say this with trepidation, but, better than the AMG Diavel
I don't think the color is the problem. Speedymoto's 1098 looks pretty good.
I like it. I used wear diesel stuff when I lived in Italy and was younger and slim. Lol
on the other hand I also want to punch Ducati in the face just for the Jovanotti/Brody combo...

I like it. One warning, fits small!!
The blackened visor is extra. It comes with clear one by default.
I bought it online in a UK shop ( http://www.designerhelmets.com/ (http://www.designerhelmets.com/) ), though, if your avatar really means you were a para and located in Italy, it should be easier to find one directly there.

Thanks HotIce, yes my avatar means just that. Also the Dainese store in Chicago carries them, and I'm pretty close with a AGV dealer.

Anyone know if the seat will be available to order from dealers?
I think its dumb... It looks cool aesthetically ... but the idea is dumb.
like everyone else I want the seat.. but I'm sure it cost 500.00 usd

Just take the photo to a local upholstery shop...hopefully one that does moto seats. Should be able to mod the stick seat.
