Wish I could. That is how she sat when I stopped by on my lunch. Won't be ready to ride until tomorrow. [bang]

This new Elefant is much better looking. [thumbsup]
YAY! :) she's pretty ryan :)
Is she an S and sport or touring?
I've been eyeing one of these for a while, I'm looking forward to hearing your opinions of it as your get used to it.
Beautiful bike, by the way...
Congrats, I LOVE mine.
Looks like a touring. (Ohlins/no carbon/center stand)
White was my first choice. I couldn't locate the white option from the used bike factory, so I settled for the faster color.....black. ;D
Just in time for a west coast dimby trip.
S Touring...correct.
I wanted Red.
Literally no dealership in the midwest had a red one. There was a white 2011 and this white 2012. This one was still at port waiting customs/shipping here when we put the money down.
Very nice! [thumbsup]
how dare you do this to the rest of us waiting to buy one. :'(
I got the ball rolling back in like November. Hehe. Not the actual order...just letting the dealer know I would buy one if they had it available. They ordered a Pikes Peak and mine this spring.
Congrats!
Enjoy [Dolph]
[thumbsup] nice! congrats to you
That's exactly the bike I'm interested in.
I'm hoping ot get a chance to test ride one this weekend.
I have to do a spring oil change on the Monster, so I'm off to the dealer for a filter and a ride on the one they have there.
Only thing is there's isn't an S...
Please let us know how you're enjoying it and what you're not 100% thrilled as your time with her goes on. And of course, congratulations!

Lucky ducky!
Congrats!
Really nice [thumbsup]
63 miles from the dealer to home (I live 9 miles from the dealer).
So far my impressions are that with the Multistrada, Ducati pisses rainbows and shits unicorns.

Grats on the addition! [thumbsup]
super jealous!!!!!
hope you have a blast touring on it.
Dood!
Awesome!

Santa Barbara Ducati turned me loose on one. It's like a 500cc 2 stroke dirt bike, you go wheelying across intersections, you blast around town like a hooligan, and I want one real bad.
so it's been about a week. are you tired of it yet? ;D
If he is, I'll give that thing a good home.
Feeling the mod bug?

Definitely not sick of it. Spent part of last night mounting up my GoPro mounts...
Nice.
I expect prompt delivery of your old, boring M900 whenever you have the chance. You know where I live. ;D
So the shop I went to Saturday had a Pike Peak in stock...
Oh my it's nice.
Just take off and store that silly carbon "windshield" and replace it with a nice smoked high version.
Does anyone know if you can mount bags to the Pikes peak?
Imagine the bags all done up in the same color pattern, grrrrrrrrrrrrr.
I would think so as it looks like there's only cosmetic changes.
All I know is my Mega Millions ticket better pay off...
jimi
Pikes is really only cosmetic AFAIK - so you could get the bag kit for it. Of course you'll need the bags and the mountings. Double check with a dealer - but as I understand it it's the S-Sport with the flash body kit, the short screen and that's about it.

Yup. Saw the one my dealer got side by side with an S Sport and the differences are only cosmetic.
Biggest reason I went with the Touring. Of course, I now find myself wanting the black bits replaced with the CF bits...but not at the prices Ducati wants. [puke]
I got my top box mounted up last night and have to say that I love the quick release system. It makes it easy to add and remove the bags.
Robin loves having a backrest as her biggest fear on the bike is falling off the back. hehe.
Oh yeah!! We're you riding down here in Austin last weekend?! Very Nice!
Funny enough Adam, Austin is one of my top choices if I stay in IT.

Something definitely needs fixin'. [laugh]
Took the wife for her first longish ride on the bike. Apparently, me dragging my left hand through turns induces her reactionary mechanism which is to kidney punch me while shrieking into her helmet.
LOL. I could see a few track days in the Multi's future but still a bit leary about wadding my shiny new $20k bike... [popcorn]
Planning on doing some off the beaten path adventures this week. Level B surface roads around here are "minimum maintenance" roads.
Have to say that as a commuter, she is 57181789 times the bike the Monster is. But the Monster still beats her ass when it comes to back alley brawler attitude.
I am trying to remedy that but the carbon bits are fluckin' spensive.
Got any new pics with the luggage installed?
mitt
I will tonight. ;)
Sorry for the delay Mitt...

It's been growing on me. I wanted Red originally then fell in lust with the Pikes Peak but for the extra money and not getting bags...
White seems to be working out just fine.

Even Jud is not stupid enough to come in here guns-a-blazin. Anyway, I think I would have held off to get the red. I just don't dig white bikes.

I had my share of red hot and dark ones, now I want a white one ;)
red hot and dark are fun for a short while.
Had my red hot for nearly 10 years. And the new owner has promised me dibs if he gets bored with her.
Debating on my first Multistrada adventure touring/camping trip either this weekend or next. I plan on hitting a bunch of state forest roads and forestry preserves (most of them date back to the Civilian Conservation Corps days).
The keys will be wild/primitive camping only and the most gravel and dirt to get to the spots.
So far my choices are Stephens State Forest in southern IA or Volga River State Park and Yellow River State Park (Painted Creek Division).
I have had a nice lightweight tent for some time now and it packs up small. I also picked up a new cold weather sleeping bag and will be picking up a more mild weather/backpack bag. Looking at the LaFuma Yellowstone Light backpack bag. It weighs ~2lbs and packs into an incredibly small size.
I also need to pick up some lightweight cooking gear including a small stove for travel.
Unfortunately, the wife unit doesn't enjoy the camping in tents thing and to her, roughing it is a Red Roof Inn.
Better find bigger luggage to fit a red roof inn on that thing
;D
his wife and charlief's wife would agree.... ;D

Nice bike man! Congrats!
When my Monster 1100 EVO was in for the rear wheel recall recently I took their Multistrada 1200 S demo bike for the day and really really liked it. Tons of power, great suspension, excellent chassis and brakes. My only real complaint was the windscreen, it is adjustable but the only thing it adjusts is where on your helmet the wind hits you.

Yeah, the common fix is a spacer in the bottom hole of the stock screen or to replace the screen. I am replacing the screen as I want a wider screen as well.
Sort of looking forward to the Continental Twinduro TKC 80s in sizes for the Multi too. Definitely a more dirt friendly tire which is my only real complaint atm.
My upgrade/mod path looks like this:
Windscreen
Motech crash bars
TKC80s
case liners
Blazer HID driving lights
Replace all of the stock headlight bulbs with higher wattage/whiter bulbs
At some point I want a moto specific GPS but one that shows topo maps instead of just flat maps. I am trying to convince a seller on ADV to sell me his Garmin 2820 but...well I made him an offer. Let's see if he accepts.
I sort of want an exhaust...mainly for the weight savings but then plan on adding that much in parts...but the sound...yeah...still deciding.
I already wired in a second fuse block. 2 12v outlets and my wife is buying me a tank bag with a solar panel built into it for charging my phone on the road.
I want to wire the top box for 12v so I can plug my ultrabook charger into it on the road.
I want to make this my primary mode of transportation. My car is nice but can't take me down a fire road if I feel so inclined.
