So I am rebuilding my 2000 750 Dark after my crash of a few weeks ago.
Here is what I am thinking. General concept. Off white top (tank, seat cowl, fairing), red frame and small red belly pan. The parts that do stuff (wheels, handlebars, etc) black. Logos will be red.
Probably use Suburban Machinery bars (powder coated black) and a really minimal old school speedo set up.
Would love to do spoked wheels but I'm not sure I can afford it.
Any body have any thoughts? Better ideas?
fyi...it already has leo vince high mounts and a duc. perf. seat.
Sounds amazing dude!
I would make some suggestions though:
Instrument cluster
motogadget

No Fairing, Looks more badass. If you're spending your money already in a small cluster, you might as well show it off...
Pm duc stew, he has a set of spoked wheels for cheap!
Might be able to save some coin on spoked wheels by doing the build yourself -- I've built a couple dozen bicycle wheels, and am excited to try moto wheels. Touch base with Dietrich for more info:

Yeah...I'm really going back and forth on the fairing. Most of my riding is highway 60-80 mph and I think I might like having one...and if I don't have DucPainter paint it now it will cost a fortune later (to buy more paint etc). So I think I will probably have one painted. That said, I like the way they look without a fairing much better.
My suggestion is to Post pics. ;)

-Good luck w/the rebuild!! :) I wish I could afford to buy a binned SS and rebuild it to be a streetfighter. Ahhh, some day, some day... Post pics when you can though!

That color scheme sounds bad-ass. DO IT!!! [thumbsup]
Sounds great! Just my 2 cents... instead of just the standard Ducati Logo why not something a little different such as the 80's text, wing older style etc. might look cool with the spoked wheels if your going for that general look.
Does anyone know if the motogadget speedo is a plug and play or how much work is required hooking it up?

It depends.. Mostly on whether your bike has an immobilizer or not. If you are unfortunate enough, like me, you have to rip out the guts of your cluster and get the immobilizer out.
PM ducstew for proper procedure...

I can't make sense of these pics.... how is it mounted? Can I get a pic that isn't so close up?
my suggestion for the new gauges is the trailtech vapor (http://trailtech.net/vapor.html). i have one of these on my ktm supermoto and i really like the setup and how it works. im sure you can read on their site, but everything is programmable and it has all the functions you will ever need in a gauge setup. i dont know how it works on the duc, and ive seen a couple people talk about it and they had an issue with something, but im sure its been figured out by now. once i get rid of the immobilizer on my bike i will be adding a vapor.
