Was Mrs. IZ with you?
Glad you're OK!
Oh crap, glad you are OK Adam. Let us know what you need.
Glad you guys are ok. Remember to be extra careful with yourselves for a couple of days.
Good to hear your ok.
Glad to hear you're, for the most part, ok IZ. Let us know if there's anything we can do.
Crap.
Good to hear you're both okay. Sad news.
Horrible news. Glad that you are okay. The bike can easily be replaced.
oh shit!
Glad you're both fine. What happened? Back tire step out?

What happened?
Probably ran over a nail.
Or got stung by a bee.

Wow, really going back in the day on this one huh?
Sorry to hear :P
bike parts are replaceable body parts are not. props to you for making it out safe and +1 for posting it
Wonder why he disappeared.
He was solo on the bike.
Front end washed out on him.
He's better than the bike is.
Thanks all Sorry though. I meant the bike and I are ok. Neither too bent up. A lot of cosmetic on both of us. The mrs doesn't ride.
Geared up? I hope so...
I'm glad you're not seriously hurt!
Is it cruel to ask for pictures :D
What they've all said ^^^.
Let us know what we can do.
My head would've had a nice gash..maybe hole in it..behind my right ear. Scorpion helmet did its job!
Will post pics later.
Amazing though how light the motorcycle was though when I picked it up from the road. Adrenaline rush!!
One second riding and the next second..sliding! Happened instantly. In that second, I thought.."holy shit..I'm sliding!" and then I thought..oh shit..in going to get run over!! Stop sliding and get to bike!
Yup, one second you're on the bike, the next you're not!
Again, glad you're ok.
What's making the bike unrideable? I.E. what do you need?

Haha.
Been there.
First roll "Shit! Cross your arms across your chest!"
Second roll "Shit! The guys behind me! They're gonna hit me!"
Third roll "Shit! Stop rolling, already! I gotta get to the bike!"
Fourth roll "...any day now..."
<stop>

hope everything still fits like it should Adam.
I didn't roll though. I slid across wet pavement about 12' along the drive. Even though the wet pavement caused it, glad it was wet. Luckily, the cars behind were at the red light a ways back!!
I have two tank dings on right side. One from the pavement and one from handlebar. Foot peg on right snapped in half. The foot brake is crunched into bike. The handlebar is bent on right. Sil megaphone on right is scuffed along whole pipe. I don't know what else? I have to get pics. I got it home. Happened about a mile from home after just riding 15 or so miles in rain from work.
No bees! >:(
[thumbsdown]
Just went out to try to take pics about with my baby and was swarmed by birds that are above our apt trying to protect their nest!!
Sorry to hear
Hope you heal fast -
Good, sounds easy enough to repair, except for the Sil. Gonna be able to find a replacement for that?
Hmm..Maybe just buff it out and paint the pipes all black but leave stainless tips.
Glad you're ok, IZ. [thumbsup]
Thanks all!
Just got up and realized while right side is not good
Yeah...
You're gonna want to dose up on ibuprofen, super hydrate, and probably stretch before you go to bed tonight.
You're still probably gonna feel like you got hit by a truck when you wake up tomorrow, but every little bit helps.
glad you're ok man, anytime you can walk away is good :)
Oh shit! I just sneezed for first time!! Ahhhh.. My ribs!!
My allergies are going nuts too.
sorry for your miss fortune but glad to live to tell the tale.
Bummer!
Misadventures like this are never fun, but it's good to hear you're not too much the worse for wear. [thumbsup]
sorry to hear man. sounds like you are pretty good. glad to hear that!
Long as they don't hurt when breathing normal, your just sore.. take it easy.
Good to hear that you're OK, mostly anyway. I hate the rain. A couple of months ago another rider in our group, Sta, & I had to go through the worst rain I've ever ridden in on a downhill freeway coming over a small mountain pass. I was in constant fear of hydroplaning and was aiming for the tire tracks from the cars in front of me before the water could could flow back over. It was fricken awful. Then the visors started fogging up. Getting soaked was the minor part. [roll]
Sorry to hear. Most important is you are pretty much OK. Rest up and take it easy. The bike will wait. Think about seeing your doctor to be on the safe side, though I wouldn't be smart enough to.
sorry to hear about the accident, glad you're ok.
Sorry to hear about your slide. Glad you made out OK for the most part.
Yikes.
Glad you're more or less OK. [thumbsup]

huge +1....but glad you are okay....
have your wifey take pictures so we can see em....
Sorry to hear. Glad it was not too bad. Get better soon. [thumbsup]
Broken rib sucks. No motion and lots of pain killer. [bang]
Sorry to hear about the slide, but glad you're ok.
Dude!!!
I'm just seeing this now...
Glad you're in one (if slightly banged up) piece!
It's easier to bolt new pieces onto the bike, than onto you...
[bacon]
Falling is almost never fun. Glad to hear that you are ok.
100,000 miles between my two Monsters since 2003..accident free. There've been a lot of close calls so I've been pretty lucky until now. Well, very lucky in this since it was so minor. The Duc is probably going to go away for awhile. When the wife finishes her MA though, I see a new one in the future. Kind of sucks though because in the last six months, I went from two monsters to one and now to 0. I got this little rugrat to take care of though so it's probably for the better
A Ural is the answer.
Glad you're doing ok my hobbit friend! [thumbsup]
The bike will come back if you really want it to.
It's you that we are more concerned with. :-*

Heal well Iz. Tomorrow will hurt more :-[ but then you should be over the hump :) if it's just bangs and bruises. Never hurts (pardon the pun) to visit the doc though.
Sorry to hear but glad you're OK. [thumbsup]
I hate the rain but find myself in it often...Gotta love Oregon.

And it sounds like its upgrade time [thumbsup]
Just saw this - I'll join the chorus: So glad you're alright!!!
At least this didn't happen in FL. The chances of you not wearing a helmet were a lot higher then.
Where are the IZ_ pics?
Sorry to hear that. heal fast and hope to see "both of you" back on the road soon.
Just saw this thread.
Hate to hear that you went down. Love to hear that you're gonna be okay!
Best to you and godspeed in the recovery.
Glad to hear you are OK. I remember going down a couple years ago.
You're up and suddenly on the ground sliding. Take it easy, you will hurt for a couple days.
Let us know if there is anything we can do!
Glad you are ok!!
Adam Adam Adam.
Ok...I got nothin'. Just glad to hear you're OK.
Glad you're ok mate, now post those IZ_ pictures already!
So, few days later, how ya feeling?
What's the word on the bike?
Still waiting for someone from the insurance agency to stop by. Shoulder is really sore still. Ribs..not so much. Thanks for asking. How's the leg C?
Doing fine. Would below the knee still isn't healed (it's been about 7 weeks now). But I've been on the bike quite a bit and am getting back most of my fitness level. Still just a bit behind where I was about 6 months ago...
Just saw this thread as well. Glad you turned out alright. That adrenaline rush is something else isn't it? I'm pretty sure I broke my patella in a crash in '04, but still managed to lift myself off the road and walk to the bike, shut if off as it was pouring oil everywhere and I didn't want it to seize, and dead lift it back up to almost upright when BAM! It hit me that I was in serious pain and I dropped the bike back over in the yard it ended up in and walked it off for a few minutes before a nice lady stopped and gave me a ride home. Wasn't on a Ducati, but still it sucked.
Heal up bro. [thumbsup]
Glad you are ok IZ!!!
Man IZ, I just read this.
Glad you're alright.
Good to here the gear did it's job. Watching the pavement slide by your face is an interesting feeling ;D
After riding for several years, rain still puts me on edge. I'll do it, but I'll be sightly uncomfortable the entire time (and NOT because the chopped tail is flinging water up my back, and down the back of my pants)
If I could of predicted the future, I would of had some spares for you. I just off loaded some mirrors and pegs to a guy in Ft. Worth. I've got a set of handlebars in the garage, but they're prebent in the same manor as yours are now. I'd give you the ones off my 620, since I'm not riding it, but I might not be able to sell it stripped [laugh]
I promised my wife a couple months ago that I'd either put my bike into storage or sell it when we have a baby. She's afraid I'll get taken out by a texter and she'll ahve to raise it on her own. [bang] Once it hits school age, I'm allowed back on the road [laugh] I thought about arguing with her about it, but I figured I'd loose that fight...so I'm getting everything ready to sell. That's why I've dumped all my spare parts. Bike will be next. I can't ride right now anyways until I have surgery.
Just seeing this now IZ...heal fast, climb back on!!
Thanks all!
Still sore. Cutting back on the ibuprofen. Trying to stretch more. Should be back to the gym in a couple weeks.
Jumpt..How you been?
Pirate.. Surgery? Baby?!
Rat.. Investing in a kayak/SUP for now. When wife finishes school..I'll climb back on to a superbike!
I'll have the handle bars off my '03 M1000Sie available in a week or so. They are just 7/8 stock bars. They are straight but show a little age. If they will help you are welcome to them. Just shoot me a PM if you are interested.
Thanks. PM sent!
Sorry to hear you crashed. Glad you are recovering! Glad the ribs are not too sore. Get well!

Eh...I've got some serious numbness issues in one of my hands. I did a little tip-over-the-handlebars action on the mountain bike last summer, and now by the time I get to the stop sign at the end of my street, I can't feel anything. Doesn't make for safe motorcycling...atleast for me. I don't feel safe.
Anyways, no baby yet, but I think we're planning on some baby news by the end of the year...and since I can't ride the monster right now anyways, she's probably going up for sale in the next couple months. It actually hurts me a little inside just typing that out [laugh]
I've seriously considered just taking the battery out and draining the tank, to put it in storage for a couple years (until the future spawn is out of diapers), but I don't have a garage to put it in at the moment...and I'd feel bad letting it sit and slowly die in my storage shed :'(
I'm hoping I can find a good new home for it, and in a few years when all ready again, I can pick up a new something. Probably a multistrada.
BTW--I've been looking into other things to fill my need for fun and speed (but safer to make the wife happy). SUP looked a little slow for me, but I've been eyeballing one of these pretty hard:
Either way, I'll probably be a non-motorcyclist member of the DMF for a couple years. Hope no one minds [laugh]
That looks fun! Not sure we have the wind for that around Lake Austin. Definitely not the space.

OK all..I'm thinking I will keep the bike. I don't know if I can live without her. One of the reason's I moved back to Austin..it's a fun place to cruise around and make a little noise. [evil] I planned on giving the old 620 to my son too when he is old enough and wants to tinker around with a "classic".
So, I'm wondering though..I have been wanting clip-ons. When they fix it..since it will not be the exact same as I have it now anyway (pic below)..you all think I can get some for it instead of the stock? Are prices comparable..off the top of anyones head? I haven't had time to research at all. A new tank will probably be aluminum too for aftermarket. I'm wondering if they'll paint it the way it was. Also..the SIL megaphones may be hard to get hands on. Think they would go with something comparable? I have never dealt with a bike getting fixed by insurance. Cars..yes!! Many times, unfortunately. Some of you may know this. [bang] Anyway, it's being towed to the shop this week.

Hey Mr. McGooch! Thanks. Hope all is well there.
Dan..I see you're back in the Phillipines. You starring another world tour or just staying there?
Insurance is totaling the bike.
:'(
WTF?!
can you pick it up as a salvage bike?
What kind of damage was done on it?

Well see
Sometimes all it takes is a few minor nicks on the frame.....
Bikes these days are totalled if you so much as look at 'em wrong. I oughta know ;D
If the frame, motor, swingarm, and suspension are ok, I'd definitely buy it back.
Check your options on retaining the bike. I'm sure the laws vary but in MO if a vehicle, older than five years, is totaled and the owner retains it, the title is not branded at all. On a newer vehicle, the title is branded "Prior Salvage" after the car is fixed and inspected by the State Highway Patrol.
Also, glad you're ok-ish!
That really sucks Adam!
It's not likely anything major, I'm sure the cost to repair the items exceed the % they have assigned before they total it. It's an older bike so they probably don't assess a whole lot of value to it.
When I bought my crashed bike back it cost me 1300 so you may be able to get it back cheap...
