The Boss has been toiling away creating a new home for her babies and as she nears completion it is time to start organising the launch party.
But it is not really intended to be a party but merely a simple social gathering of the Ozmo mob ... because we haven’t been doing enough of that lately. I emphasise the social part of the day because anybody that has sampled my culinary expertise (yes, you’re right neither of those words are appropriate) will know that there is not much to look forward to in that regard ... especially by the high standards that some of the ‘foodies’ set around here.
So if you can stomach a burnt sausage and the company of your fellow Ozmos let us know. Some of you already know where we are (quite a few actually) ... but when you let us know you are coming we can provide address details. Obviously we will need to know numbers beforehand so I know how many sausages to incinerate ... if you’re a vegie I wouldn’t worry as I don’t think there is any meat in sausages nowadays. We’ll also grab some softdrinks and water so you don’t all die of dehydration.
So the date ... Saturday 5th May ... hopefully that is enough notice. The a-league finals will be finished by then so we should be all good.
I understand how people have become shy of the Old Road, but we can arrange to meet and travel in convoy if anyone is interested (let us know). We can meet at any of the usual landmarks (Berowra, PITS, Mt White, Peats Ridge, the Slab, etc) or you can just head straight here.
Of course we are open to your SOs coming along and understand if this means cars for kiddlies and it may help with the ‘leave pass’ I have heard some of you talk about ... but this is not intended to be an event for your Jap/MV/Massey/etc mates to tag along just because they wanted to come for a ride.
We will aim for a mid-morning meet-up if requested/required ... so we will be ready in time for prime sausage burning time. Details can be confirmed once we know who is coming. You only need to hang around as long as you can put up with me ... our space is not limitless, but hopefully we can accommodate everybody that is interested.
So throw the 5th into your diaries and let us know if you will be along ASAP â€" hopefully the shed will be presentable by then ... PM Jukie (and/or me) if you are coming or if you need any more details.
Excellent.
I'll be your first RSVP. ;D

Well you shouldn't have told him about it in the first place ... then it would only be a 'problem' if you have a standing date every Saturday.
Besides, it looks like he has a nice enough shed of his own.

Geez I hope there is enough bikes present to justify all these photo requests ... after all it's just a shed ... and one burnt sausage looks the same as most others.
Geez that "Burnt Sausage" is an extremely tempting lure to take a week off work and ride up to the East Coast!? [thumbsup] [Dolph] [roll]

Mate, if you do that we might even be able to offer up some stale bread and a left-over tomato sauce satchel to go with the sausage ... just for making the effort.
Sounds awesome... please count me in!
Sure will rod no problemo

JUST? a shed? surely not! if it was just a shed there would be no need for a grand opening!
and i'm not _really_ interested in looking at a burnt tube steak but the shed and the bikes? YES please???
Come on fellas put your names down. Wanna see more than this. Gotta share the love :-*
If I lived a bit closer I'd be there with bells on Jukie. As it is I'm with the 'I wanna see photos of the shenanigans, please' crowd. [wine]
Gee I was hoping you would come up. You could even stay for a while heather. Matty will be taking all the excellent photos. So stay tuned
i usually work sat mornings, will see how we go closer to the date

I would love to mosey on over as well because it would be great to meet everyone (or the NSW members at least) but at this stage due to family commitments and geographical constaints I'm out. Send a burnt sausage my way....i'm sure it wont spoil....due to the petrification process ;D

OK you lot, time to get serious ... we are only a week and a half away from Jukie's big day. I know the Boss was talking it up a bit on Sunday ... but it really is intended to be a low key, casual affair.
As we haven't exactly been inundated with requests we assume you are all happy to meet at PITS ... say at 10am for a 10:30 departure (oh and we won't be stopping anywhere for fuel). From there people can either follow my slow procession or travel at your own pace and we can re-group at 'the slab' - hopefully we will be able to stick together from then on (or that there is enough people that know roughly where they are going that we don't lose anyone).
If you can't make the group gathering but intend to drop by later in the day send either of us a PM so we can provide details. Of course you can also just come along for the ride if that is what suits.
I will post again shortly with a list of people that have indicated their interest (on the thread, via PM or verbally) ... can you please alter as required.
Thanks

Another great example of why this place is so brilliant!! Thanks a million.
The great news is that I was able to collect my bike from the dealers yesterday with a new regulator installed and bike is raring to go. Only issue I have for this weekend is that I now have an appointment in Syney at 12.30pm, so unfortunately I'm out for this gathering [thumbsdown]
Thanks again though for the offers of help, I really appreciate the sentiment.

I think we have a contact number for everyone on the list ... so assume you have ours. If not, send a PM with your mobile number and we will reply in kind. Any issues on the day ... or if you won't be meeting at PITS, let us know.
I am going to suggest a 'ride at your own pace' ride up to 'the slab' ... we can re-gather there. Unfortunately from then on you're all stuck behind me ... so the rest will be a slow procession. We will only have to make 4 turns so should be pretty simple. If we can't stick together in the traffic I hope there is a reasonable spread of people who know where they are going that we might be able to find our way home.
Thanks guys for showing some interest ... see you in a couple of days. If there needs to be any changes to the plans I/we will post up in this thread so maybe check before heading out on Saturday.

Thanks Dez ... I have ridden that road before. But I know I am not a good leader ... I had to keep checking my speed so my 'pace' was all over the place.
Oh and I apologise to all for my crappy traffic management ... we all survived though, so that's a good thing.
I would like to send a special note of thanks to the following members for making the effort to come along:

The Boss has had a pretty rough time of things recently (I definitely don't help) ... but she has put a lot of effort into her shed (over a considerable period of time). It has meant a lot to her and wanted to celebrate its 'opening' with her mates. So despite all your other commitments I thank you for making the effort to be part of it for her.
Special thanks to Rob (and the cook) the cakes seemed to go down very well.
Also a special mention to Six95 who in making the trip up on his pushie became the only member to attend both Jukie's recovery BBQ and her shed opening. I have to say little 347.5 doesn't seem to mind a bit of engine noise.
The weather turned out just about perfect (I was fretting all week) ... anyway thanks again everyone, hope you enjoyed yourselves.
Thanks for the do Betty and Jukie (and Robs for cup cakes)
Came away from said BBQ with a stomach full of good tucker (cooked to perfection) and cake.
Also now have a very serious case of shed envy, also a great ride with some very nice Ozmo folk
Brilliant day all round :)
Somehow I think "shed" is not quite appropriate
more of a shrine or a luxury motorbike weekender. [thumbsup]
Can I book the S2R in ? she needs a holiday from my shity salt encrusted
beachside carport with its low rent bike cover . [cheeky]
Thanks for the special mention. Much appreciated.
Yes, the shed is really a blinged up granny flat display home.........Very inspirational to get mine finished.
Great barbs and good too see old and new faces.

One small request: I vaguely recall lots of photos taken of Junior Burger on the Lamby? Would anyone have any to send me please?
Thanks
Brett
Thanks Betty & Jukie for the BBQ and the effort that went into organising the day.
When I grow up I want a shed filled with toys just like yours!
