Title: front brake pads for s2r1000
Post by: Paul W on April 27, 2012, 10:33:15 PM
Hey guys,
Need to get new front  brake pads for the monster.
Any ideas as to the best pads, and where to get them?  Should I buy local in Brisbane, or on line?
Looking for really good stopping power for road use (not doing track days).
Also, fitting them is an easy home job I take it...
Paul

EBC, carbone lorraine, SBS (my favourites) Braking, all good aftermarket pads, match the pad material to the rotor, you're not supposed to use sintered pads with iron rotors for example, make sure if you're buying on line that you confirm the part number for fitment.
Easy to fit, make sure you use some copper grease on the pins as well as on the back of the pads to eliminate noise.
cheers

paul.

What he said. I've got the EBC extreme pro pads (part number is EPFA244HH) as depicted by another DMF member here: http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=47987.0 (http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=47987.0)

They work well road or track. Some others have ridden it and reckon the brakes are a bit grabby but they also ride bikes with crap brakes. Work nicely on stock rotors (what I use on the road/wet track) but also work nicely with some brembo full floaters (which I run on the spare set of wheels). Definitely recommended - we also run them on my gf's RGV250 and they're fantastic on that, too (actually on the RGV the stopping power is now best described as 'crashing into a brick wall').
