Title: Woman tours United States and beyond solo
Post by: missrider on May 01, 2012, 03:39:50 AM
Hi,

I have not been in this forum for a while and recently a friend asked me to share my experiences with my Ducati Monster because she is going to buy a 696.  I have a 2000 Ducati Monster and have owned him since birth, 12 years ago.  My Monster has been my best friend forever.  In 2010 I started riding longer distances and my Monster was just not suited for the touring aspect and like to do. I bought a 2009 Triumph Bonneville with 1700 miles and in two seasons the bike has accrued over 24,000 miles, touring America like this: http://missrider.com/ (http://missrider.com/)

My Monster is still my best friend travelling in New England.  I am currently waiting for "steeting head bearings" because they have rusted out.  Having a hard time finding cheaper one, will just have to open my wallet and purchase them from the Ducati shop.

Glad my friend asked for help because now I will start following all of your adventures.

Madeline

Welcome!

Impressive mileage you are racking up!  [thumbsup] Assume you have a short inseam if you are riding an SE? What seat are you using? Did you add any suspension goodies from NewBonneville?

Rubber side down!
