Kaiserslautern, Germany. Right smack in the middle of downtown

That's what I thought.
I was standing right about where that pink dot is 6 years ago.
hell I was there this spring with my little ones and wife for a kids' carnival ON THAT VERY SPOT
nice. [laugh]
I was drunk and eating a doner. [thumbsup]
No offense to Raux but that sounds like more fun than being next to an old bomb with your wife and kids! [laugh]

8th Air Force.
;D
Just a question. Why was your ride unsafe?
I'm guessing from being 10ft away from an aging WWII unexploded ordnance on a thundering Ducati...... not sure which one you were on Raux?
30mph 50ft from a stop light........last of the late brakers or giving it the beans off the line? ;D

the 944 motor has that low resonance vibration during quick acceleration [roll]
It didn't blow up for a few years, won't just decide to blow up now. Not an issue at all.
They're actually in the middle of construction there, that's how they found it.
Fortunately whenever digging in Germany, they are prepared and aware of these 'issues' so they're a bit more careful on digs.
but you never know.
they're defusing it today at noon [thumbsup]

Um, you do realize that his comments were tongue in cheek, right?
You make it should as if he was actually scared.
oh i know.
for the most part these things are inert, but they can go boom too.
I was in Estonia and we found a large artillery shell just pushed out of the ground near a hospital. guy just hand carried it to the car then to the range for 'controlled' detonation. mmm c4
I was just on a construction site for a 3 letter agency outside of DC and found two WWII hand grenades in a dirt pile. The site had been a basic training base during the war. sorry, no cameras on site. I would love to had a picture of them.

Been there too! I always wondered what I would find if I wandered around Landstuhl and Ramstein besides spent shells. Now I know.
some dumb-arses dont help to make their ride any safer do they....
