IZ, I believe you cause that is the worst picture.
I've had a 77 Fiat 128 3p, modified it with lowered springs, straight exhaust, tore out the interior and removed the steel bumpers to lighten it and had 205 series tires on magnesium rims ;D
This is what I was working towards... Not mine, but this type of racing was the inspiration

also was restoring a 77 Fiat 124 spider, but had to sell due to move (still made a small profit)

;D
I had a FIAT Duna (duna, I kid you not).
But after the week was up I returned it to the Hertz depot in Buenos Aires. Neither it nor I could take the flogging any longer [laugh].

But then again probably doesn't count cos Matchbox cars are made in England.

I'm a member of an Alfa Romeo family.
Growing up, my parents mostly drove Alfas, over a period of 25 years, they had a '65 GTV (wrecked), a '66 GTV (sold to get sedan after kid #3 born), '67 Giulia Super (wore out in the late '80's at about 200K), '71 Berlina (dad didn't like the mechanical FI, and sold it to get a ...), '67 Giulia Super (wrecked in the late '80's, also at about 200K, and a '65 2600 Spider (project and toy).
I went through a couple of Hondas and an Opel as my first few cars, then got my own first Alfa in 1983, a '73 Berlina, which I had for about 5 years. It had 70K on it when I got it, and I put another 70K on it, then my roommate wrecked it. I'd probably still have it otherwise. That was a great car.
My wife has had a '64 Giulia TI (once an amateur race car; we put it back on the street for a few years, then traded to mechanic who put it bck on the track where it belongs), and an '81 GTV6 (became rusty and too expensive to keep up, after about 150K).
My dad and I went halves in '99 on a '67 GT Jr. and played with it for about 10 years.
Between the bunch of us, we've had 9 Alfas, with a total mileage of over 1 million, about half of which we've put on them ourselves.
And if FIAT/Chrysler brings Alfa back to the U.S. (and they're real ones, not some common platform with Dodge and Jeep built in Mexico or something), I'll be tempted. As I write this, I'm in Amsterdam, and I've seen quite a few nice modern Alfas running around here. (As well as Lancias, Peugeots, Citroens, Renaults, Skodas, SEATs, and various others that you don't see in the U.S.)
