welcome to the board. make sure and check out the Mile High Monsters locals group over in the local clubs section if you haven't found it already. also, if you haven't already, consider taking an MSF course.

enjoy the bike!

Thanks! I'll make sure to check out the local group(s). And I actually completed my MSF course this past weekend. Learned a ton.  [thumbsup]

Investment? I hope you just mean as something to ride in the future. I wouldn't expect that bike to gain any special value over time. Better ways to invest that cash if you want a return.

But if you're gonna ride it... go on! Just watch out for the sport/full mode where the engines at full power with an agressive throttle map - it's a rocket in low gears.

I'll definitely start slow on this one - pretty massive size.

And I'll politely disagree with you on the value point. ROI on the majority of short-term cash investments is squat right now, and these bikes are limited (numbered & guaranteed to never be produced again, thanks to the buyout) such that a mint example should pull a decent return relatively soon.

Speaking of, paperwork was finalized today:

I wish you luck - not meaning to pee in your pool at all. Just seen other relatively limited versions of other Duc models not go for anything special when they are turned around in the near(er) term.

Now, of course you get something like an 888 that you can sell for some duckets!

And you don't really need to start slow (well beyond the break in period) as long as your mindful. When it's in the full power mode it's gotta lot of get up and go. I did a 30 mph to ???mph 2nd gear quick roll on and yelped 'Whoa shit!' when it slid me back 3-4" in the saddle.

Just found this post. There are a few of Monster riders here in the Denver area so pm me some time and we can get you in the loop for the next ride. Beginners are always welcome just so you know. Hope to hear from you.
