Hey everyone
Looking to buy smoked/fog rear sequential taillights. Ordered one set the which was a horrible fit and had em returned.
Anybody else have opinions or thoughts on brands for my 2012 696?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
I'm headed that direction with my 900, but worry that people won't see. Also I don't have a tail chop and worry that it would look weird. I'm not good at making cosmetic decisions and have always felt the blinkers sticking out help people see you because of the width of a blinking light and a brake light instead of one unit doing both.
Check out sling shot racing
I got the Motodynamics integrated tail light and think it looks great. I had some people on a ride I went on yesterday tell me how visible it is [thumbsup]
94-08 Ducati Monster Sequential LED Tail Lights with Smoked Lens (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2xnoZ35vsA#)
Ya that's the one I wanted actually but no stock for months for my bike! =(
Same here, I have the Smoked Motodynamic Tail Light for my Evo. Installation was extremely easy and it looks great and the LED's are very bright. Hopefully they will do another production run for you soon!
Ya they said not for a long time unfortunately. Behind on too many projects =( oh well will put it on hold for now or opt for a diff brand. Perhaps comp werkes? Any xp on that? Or maybe just led turn signals...?
i want that on my m696.. can i still buy something like that? tnx..
I have the Light Werks unit on my '95 m900 and I love it. The turn signals are bright the fit is good and wiring is simple and if I recall it was reasonably priced. Over all I would suggest it to anyone.
I've got the Motodynamics light on my S2R. I can't say anything about the new-gen monster units, but I ran into a few problems (solvable) with mine.
Mainly, the lens tended to fall off of the unit. It's glued onto the backplate (that the board/lights mount to), and the vibration from the bike tended to break that bond. It happened twice to me, on the first ride out with the unit installed. The first one, I called them up, they sent out a new unit right away no questions asked. The second time, I looked for a different solution and found a way to mount a clear alternatives lens.
Anyways, perhaps it's the way everything is mounted on my bike, since others seem to have no problems. At the end of the day (to their credit) they did what they could to fix the problem immediately. So, plus one for customer service.
Ya I'm debating still on the comp werkes one since that one seems to be the only and best one available atm. Or might just wait for a bit till I can decide wut to do...!
I got the Motodynamics integrated tail light as well, it is an awsome setup. If the person behind you doesnt see your turn signal or brake lights they are looking another direction, they are very bright.

Same here.Purchased from Jeff at Monsterparts,$89,arrived in 3 days, easy installation.Jeff wired on the connectors and included his own simple instructions. [thumbsup]
Ya I think I will just wait till motodynamics does another production since that one seems to be the most consistent =/
Motodynamics integrated
got it, love it [thumbsup]
Want =( hope patience wins Lol
I had two different brands on my bike, one of which was the Comp. Werkes one. Both looked good, and worked well.......while they lasted.
got tired of replacing the thing every 2 years and went back to OEM.
The best LED stop with integrated turn signals I bought: http://www.ducatimonstertailchop.com/ducati-monster-integrated-tail-light/ (http://www.ducatimonstertailchop.com/ducati-monster-integrated-tail-light/) it comes with a resistor to protect the bike and the LED so you don't have to buy fuses like crazy. Got mine 6months ago, ride everyday almost 4 hours in traffic and on the open road, no complains so far, the only thing that I recommend is to make sure with insulated tape that the connections are made well because I almost had a meltdown because of that.. my fault in the end... but the product is solid and it has a bonus: plate light integrated too, ;)
Already gave them a look. They only do the older monsters unfortunately. Thanks for the tip tho!
hmmm. the BEST, huh? i guess i'd go with that one then... [drink]
on the other hand, jeff at monster parts told me this is the best one in the shoe wide world, though he doesn't sell it himself because it costs almost as much as a sargent seat or more than a set of cycle cat clip-ons: http://www.vizi-tec.com/products/ducati_supanova.html (http://www.vizi-tec.com/products/ducati_supanova.html)
the website says sold out, but they got back to me and told me they still had, and even that it would work on my '99 m900. just not sure if i can stomach spending $336 on a taillight when my stock unit works fine and comp werkes is like $110.
Wow that actually is a great looking taillight. So expensive tho def true but looking at the video review it does seem quite a bit brighter and hopefully safer as well. Hmmm another option to consider altho very pricey! Damn....

my .02...
i spent 200.00 on the two brands that i had (one was c-works) and ended up going back to stock due to their not lasting very long..
of course, with the VIZI-TEC, you would safe money on your indicators...
what do you guys think about running an integrated rear without separate signals? looks sleek but is it as safe?
Ya I am leaning towards perhaps spending the extra on quality and safety after I read some more reviews on the vizi and see if they even make for my year monster. Def would save on the separate rear indicators. So many options but good to have options!
Been running the smoked integrated LED from MotoDynamics
For 2 years with no issues
I also have separate signals (required here in Hawaii) under the seat right below the fuel
Tank...which was a fabricated design...since I have complete tail chop

To be honest, I like my signals separate from the brake light, I don't want my "signals" to be ambiguous, which brings me to the "sequential" flashing, I prefer the standard flashing, just my opinion...yes they look cool on a mustang not so safe on a bike, each to their own :)
I bought a super nova, because I wanted to be seen. Is it really bright? Hells yeah it bright. It is very very well made. The tail light come complete with its own cooling fan.
Any info or insight in these Evilbay units. http://www.ebay.com/itm/220919182500?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/220919182500?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649)
just ordered the visited super nova. [wine] i will still run separate indicators (got the oberon LEDs), but i wanted a super high-quality LED brake light with the strobe-effect upon brake engagement [drool] will send pics or video when i install.
Sweet! Have to look into those!
Don't look at them too closely or too long, you'll go blind. ;D
haha aw man i just realized that the supernova was the vizitec one. and theyre not making em for my bike for now =(
which bike do you have? they're not making any more right now, but the dude has 8 left after i ordered the 9th [drink]
come on and do it! see if he'll make you a better price.
2012 696 abs... I emailed already?
ah... maybe not. but see what he says. the website said they were out of the supernovas for the old monsters, and then he still had 9
Ya they said not atm. Maybe another production run. Just gotta wait it out =/
