I just put down a deposit on a bone stock m750 with 11K miles and should be picking the bike up today. This bike rounds out my inventory of a '91 sportster, and an '04 Vstrom. The owner let me take the m750 for a test ride and I feel like a kid at Christmas.
First question, are there preferred m750 tank and soft saddle bags? Even though I use the Vstrom for touring I'd like some storage if I decide to take the Duc for a long day ride or a quick grocery run.
BTW I've been riding on and off for 40 years and live in Topsfield which is approx 25 miles north of Boston..

Hello.
has the PO replaced the belts? Cam belts on a duc are 2 year or 12k replacement items. If not, you should do that sooner. And with 11k you're coming up on a valve check. Do do a proper valve check you need to take the belts off - so you might just have it in (or DIY) a valve check and belts as one.
As far as bags... well it's really a matter of opinion and need, oh and budget. I had a cortech super mini tank bag that was really handy and not too expensive. They also make 'sport' saddle bags that do well.
If you're feeing more spendy, I like the stuff from Kreiga, though it's a bit more ADV oriented
SP,
Thanks for the info. The valves were last done at 8K but not sure what year. I'll have the service records pulled to figure out if the belts need to be done. I'm pretty handy so will start learning this bike. I watched a youtube video on belt replacement an valve adjustment and it doesn't look too bad. I have to poke around the tech section and pick up a service manual next. Can't wait to ride this thing.
