Title: How much do you trust uship?
Post by: He Man on June 18, 2012, 08:45:59 PM
Ive got a bid to ship my bike from OH to CO for $400 bucks. he isnt making more than $150 off me in 2 days unless hes hauling something else. hes got great feedback, the little that he has. not sure how much i can trust it.

So how much do you trust uship? this is as low as it gets. I got a bid once for $400 because the guy had an empty spot the morning of and i missed it. Rest of the bids are in the 600-700 range.

Whomever you choose...add the new bike to your insurance prior to shipping. I had a S4R damaged in shipping and even with the extra insurance I paid for, the shippers insurance delayed, denied, and tried to get out of it. Luckily I had added the bike to my own insurance prior to shipping. They paid me and went after the shipper for me.

It'll be fine. I mean it's not like he's gonna back over your bike 6 or 10 times, then pour chicken grease all over it.  :D Go for it.

I was gonna say...how much worse than parking in NYC can this guy hauling it for you be?!?  [laugh]

I paid $350 to ship from Miami to MD.......I asked the shipper to bubble wrap and put a towel over the chrome tank.  Make sure its in an enclosed trailer and talk to him on the phone before signing up.

its not enclosed trailer. its gonna be in a flatbed.

My main worry is how im going to fix it. cause i dont know the full extent of the damage.  if my guides are cracked id need find some new ones and then wait for them to be shipped then get someone to press them in.

but it seems like the worst case scenario is really the guides being cracked and needing new valves?

Best Ducati shop in the Colorado area is Boulder Motor Sports. http://www.bouldermotorsports.com/ (http://www.bouldermotorsports.com/)
Buy the new parts, bring the head to them, and ask them to fix it up for you.
