Title: NYC girl looking for a ride
Post by: mk22 on June 19, 2012, 04:18:10 PM
Hello everyone! Very excited to be part of this crew and looking forward to exploring the forum.

Name - mk
Location - nyc
Bike(s) (if any) - want
How long you've been riding - passenger since I was little
Anything else you'd like to share - I'm a venezuelan girl living in NYC. Adrenaline runs in the fam, with airplanes and motorcycles as a given...

I'm currently looking to buy a ducati monster as my first bike. More specifically a 620 or 696, open to older years. I'm looking nationwide. If you have any leads, please send them through.

I'm itching to enjoy the road on a solid bike.

Hello!

Well, your budget will dictate a lot. Price for a 620 will be a lot less than a 696. You should be able to find a solid 620 for a reasonable price - someone in CO just picked up a 5 speed Dark (less desirable, but in good condition) for $1700.

And no need to look all over the country - you should have no trouble tracking something down in the city or near by

There's a 695 listed here
http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=57127.0 (http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=57127.0)
- I won't/ can't comment on price as I haven't been in the market for quite some time.

If you're looking at a 696, you might also look at the M800 or S2R800 as well - the 696 makes about the same power as the older 800 mills.

For any bike you might be interested in you can always post a 'What about this one' thread in the main section to illicit thoughts and feed back. Like any used vehicle some can be great deals... some can be stinkers.

Good luck on your hunt  [thumbsup]

Google!

"Welcome  [thumbsup] here are a few of us. Good luck with your search, here you will find much more than all the info you need."

If you haven't used it - search tempest is a Craigs List aggregator. You punch in your search with some additional filters, like distance from your home zip code and voila! So if you're not finding anything good right near you, you can expand that way. And as mentioned,  there's bikes for sale on here.

Yep I got mine for $1700 but it did need a little work. If your in the city most of the time I do like my 620 Dark plus should help with insurance in NY.
