Title: Arai helmets / new models and shapes
Post by: hillbillypolack on June 21, 2012, 07:41:07 PM
I have an Arai Signet, which is in sore need of replacement (6 yo).  It's an XL, and I would like to try on the Signet-Q as well as the RX-Q for size and head shape.

Anyone have experience with either helmet, especially regarding head shape (long oval) compared to previous models?

I have the rxq and I love it... And it's more of a neutral round shape than a long oval.  The signet q is their long oval shape I believe.

I would also look at the agv gp tech if I were you... I was about to get one super discounted Rossi helmets but it was too narrow for my head which prob means its a long oval shape.

I switched to the RXQ from a Shoei RF1000 so I don't have any Arai experience except w/ my current lid.  I have a slightly more oval shaped head but find the RXQ fits very well.  I find the RXQ more comfortable than the Shoei (which is more oval shaped).
My chin is very close to the inside of the chin bar, but it's never been a problem in the past eight months I've had it.  I've went w/ the black DNA and it looks and feels sweet.

I went from a Corsair IV to a RX-Q.  They both seem pretty comparible to me.  Super comfy.
