EDMONTON - A motorcyclist was clocked at a “frightening†speed of 279 km/hr on Alberta’s deadliest highway.
Mounties said motorcyclist who was weaving in and out of traffic at a speeds of 279 km/hr on Highway 63, just north of Fort McMurray, shortly before 8 p.m on Thursday.
The motorcyclist was later arrested.
“It’s frightening,†Const. Christina Wilkins with the Wood Buffalo RCMP said. “I have never seen a speed that high and I think that would go for a lot of other officers as well.â€
No information on what he was riding..... might be for sale soon though [thumbsdown]

Stock? I've always wondered what an R1/GSX-r1000/CBR1000 would do out of the box.
I know an R6 will do 140 in 3rd.

yup, stock... in 6th gear it'd pull slowly to 199mph-indicated*, bounced off the rev limiter, then drop down 3mph and start climbing again.
*199mph - 10% = ~179mph
