Hello guys and gals!
I just got my first ever bike, a 2001 Monster 900 dark.
I have been riding for two weeks now and I love it.
It was a dream for me to get a bike which had been sidetracked for too long.
But not anymore!
The bike came with 14T front sprocket and I suppose is better than stock.
Other than that I need some suggestions for better levers than stock as I Have sort of short fingers and can't adjust the stock ones for a comfortable reach.
I am planning on putting a set of Danmoto CF slip ons as the bike came with some stainless high mounts which I don't like and I read a lot about Danmoto, on the forum, people seem to be generally happy with them.
Here is me bike :)

Welcome to the DMF.For levers, contact Monsterparts (one of our sponsors, good people, great service).
Welcome
Here's my older duc speech:
Do you have service records? If you didn't know, the cam drive belts are items that are spec'd to be replaced at 2 years of age or 12 miles - whichever comes *first*
With older bikes it's quite possible that the belt are far in excess of that age limit. Good news is that if you're a DIY sort it's an easy job to do on your own and the parts needed (two belts) are about $80. The job can be done w/o special tools, though a crank turing tool (about $25) is very handy. The alternate is to put the rear on a stand and use the rear wheel with the bike in high gear to turn the engine by hand.
Yep Monster Parts, CA-Cycleworks or Motowheels should have levers for you.
Thanks for the heads up on the belts.
I did read this forum for a while and I got the belts, and valve adjustment and a few other things done right after I bought the bike, before I even ride it.
I am a DIY, but found a really good bike mechanic locally and he did all the work for me for a reasonable price, I would do it on a car, but don't feel loke taking a chance on a bike
