Title: Hello from the desert
Post by: dolphaxel on June 29, 2012, 09:30:33 PM
Not good at intro's in person or on the computer so here goes.

My name is Axel and i've been riding for about 6 years now. I had a honda CBR 600 which I loved, but unfortunately let it go thinking it was time to look for something quieter and more upright. Well that didn't go as planned and I ended up with a 800Si.e. with clipons. I rode it for a few months and decided to strip it down to the frame and start again. After almost 4 months its about ready to go. I live in central Washington so plenty of summer left and couldn't be more excite about it. Hopefully I can find some advice on mods and keeping this rig running well here. Looking forward to chatting with you folks!!

Well I started with replacing all of the OEM stuff to bring it up to snuff i.e. filter, plugs, ect. Next it got a pile of new add on stuff. New signals, tires, spark high mount exhaust, Tapered head bearings, and I'm sure I forgot some stuff. Then the refinishing comes in. THe frame got a new powder coat job. The manifolds went to ceramic coatings. Tank, headlight, and front fender are being painted. Seat got a new wrap job with matching stitching. I also took a whole bucket of stuff that got powder coated satin black. I'm hoping to have it rolling in a week or so, however it is currently 104* outside. Ill try to track down some descent pics and post them.

I'm not sure on the exhaust. Probably not as loud as the cored low pipes that came off. The system is still new and hasnt run yet with it. I'll post something once it gets fired up hopefully in the next couple of weeks
