I'll be moving to Texas in a few months and will be in San Angelo. The only problem with this is that the nearest dealerships are in San Antonio, Austin, Dallas Ft. Worth area, and Houston. The nearest is San Antonio, over two hours away, with the rest being four to seven hours away. I have experience with X-Imports in Houston because my dad lives there, but I was wondering if any of you have dealt with the other dealerships so far as purchasing and servicing goes. The last monster I owned was used so I didn't have to break it in, but if I buy the new 696 like I want, I'm concerned about having to drive it home on a long trip right after buying it. Any advice would be appreciated.
Advanced Motorsports in the DFW area is one of the most highly regarded dealerships in the country. Really can't go wrong with AMS.
There's also Ducati Austin, looks like they are roughly equidistant from you. Lots of good dealership options in TX, you just have to drive to get there. Think there's also one in Waco too.
I'm moving to Austin next week. We'll see how that dealership is. I was in it a couple months back. It looked OK.
I'm comparing everything to Ducati Seattle now.
BTW..I was just in DucSea and D said they are pretty close to solving the problem the 696's are having.
I live in Dallas and use AMS for my scheduled services.
The AMS staff is great to work with and they do their best make sure everything is done right. Not to mention they have great track days!

+1 What he said about AMS Dallas and Alvarado. Top notch. Great crew...dang, gotta ride my Monster 25 minutes tomorrow to go there and ride an 848...someone has to do it.
