Anyone have an Osram Rallye 65w Ultra High Output (H7) installed in a 696 low beam? Any issues using stock wiring? The stock bulb is 55w so just want to make sure the 65w bulb won't fry the stock wiring.

I'm using a 55/65 lo/hi combo and haven't had fried wiring on harness
Do you ride with your hi beams on during the day?
no
the hibeam are just for running at night on barren roads
Thanks. Got it. I just wanted to know if you had the 65W bulb constantly drawing/on. I know some people ride during with hi on during the day to be more visible. In this case it would be a proxy running a 65W lo and any negative impact on the stock wiring. But not the same in your case.
I was running "Hella" low beam and and high beams. The wiring got hot and started melting so I went back to stock. I can't remember which one for sure started melting. I always ride with my high beam on Day or Night. does not seem to bother drivers and it is REALLY hard to see with just the low beam on.

Hmm...according to this (http://www.rallylights.com/Hella_H7_Bulbs.aspx) Hella 65W bulb is the Hyper (all the others are 55W which technically should be fine).
I'm leaning towards sticking with a 55W spec bulb. Philips Extreme Power (http://store.candlepower.com/bfcopotphxtp.html) get great reviews.
I use the Sylvannia Ultra and Extra vision, 55W. I do ride with my hi beam on during the day as well, if it is cloudy, I just use the low.
