Title: Monster 1100 exhaust
Post by: Spydr26 on August 22, 2012, 11:26:09 AM
Just wondering if someone has tried to fit the SC project 1100 high mount 2 into 1 exhaust on an 1100 evo.
Does anyone know of a reason why it wouldn't fit with some basic modifactions?

exhaust I'm thinking of is here:
http://www.motovationusa.com/mvstore/Scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=1111 (http://www.motovationusa.com/mvstore/Scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=1111)

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Really, almost 100 views and not a single response?

theres really no reason why it WOULDNT fit, other than the lack of an exhaust mount on that part of the subframe, unless there are holes for it in there, and the passenger pegs

i mean some modification might be necessary to fit, but should bolt up

That's what I was thinking too, however I did get an email back from the seller and he assured me it would not fit.
The manufacturer said it was never tested on my bike so they don't know if it will fit.
biggest problem is its alot of money wasted if it doesn't work for some reason.

Did you call Motivation and ask?

You asked a VERY specific question about a specific exhaust and whether it would fit a relatively new model, I am not surprised there are 100 views and no responses, I,d be will to bet no one has tried it yet! Which would make it cool if you did it!

Not that it matters here but I have the Sc Project GP Exhaust for my '09 1100 and I freaking LOVE them!

That Spark system is the nicest I've seen on an EVO1100, top quality and perfect fit and finish... [bow_down]

the ONLY think i hate about that spark system is that it totally blocks the seat release keyhole...

Love it.  Definitely my favourite EVO exhaust.

Steve,
Myself and Raux spent four days with Chris from Desmoworld at this years WDW and I can honestly say that his white EVO is one of the nicest monsters out there and that Spark system is the "Dog's".

I did talk to Motovation, they siad it would not fit. He couldn't give me a reason why it wouldn't fit.

The spark ssytem is nice and I am thinking about it, but i like the SC version better, and if I can make it fit I would go that route for sure.

id say if thats what you want, get it, but be prepared to order/make parts to allow it to fit, the way its routed it might interfere with the passenger pegs

NOt too worried about the passenger pegs, don't intend to use them much.

Any idea if there is a work around for the exhaust valve on the evo?

Sadly it doesn't come with a tail kit. I know because I own the exhaust.

I still love mine though.

sorry I should have said, as far as I know DesmoWorld delivers it with a tail kit. Check his site.
and that looks different than the kit he's offering.
do you not have an upper heat shield?

From what I remember Chris said that he'd designed a tail tidy and that Spark are going to produce it, he had one on the EVO and it was a quality bit of kit.

well with the sc project exhaust, you would probably need a flash or duc.ee to delete it as doesnt look like its even got the valve in the full exhaust
