Title: New to the monster.
Post by: mschwall on August 27, 2012, 09:38:25 AM
Hey forum members, just checking in as a new owner of a 2009 M1100 (300 mi). Just picked it up, completely stock, so mirrors and tail tidy are in the mail. I'm new to street riding so y'all have many ridiculous questions to put up with in the near future. I'm in south Texas, enjoying the heat and looking forward to some cooler riding weather. Thanks in advance for all the great info and help.

Bet we've seen it all before.

New rider questions really never qualify as ridiculous for me... well almost never. Something like "Just got my license and my friends tell me I should get a Hyabusa as my first bike. That's a good idea right?" - That's a ridiculous question.

Now on the other hand, we do get some ridiculous tech questions. "I've never even changed my own lightbulbs but want to do X very technical item, myself. I've got a hammer, screw driver and no other tools, how do it do X?"

Welcome to the DMF.
A motorcycle safety course should be in your future.
I know it's tough in that So.TX. heat but wear that protective gear.
I'm not talkin condoms.  ;D

Hey fellas, thanks for the welcome. Glad to hear we're ready for my questions. And I'll definitely be taking a couple riding courses in the next couple weeks. Work pays for them and I still get paid for that day off so I will do as many as they let me.
