Yeah I agree.....looks much better faired. 8)
couple of things.
first, get rid of the side pods covering the AL frame(less) front (such a stupid name - frameless)
second, go ahead and keep the same headlight attached to the front, just with a mini surround.
put a normal 2-seat seat on it.
put bars on it
put 5 spoke OZs
put a lighter looking front fender
THEN I'd like it.
I'd buy that if you can add a descen headlight.
I'd settle for an s4rs with a 1198 engine in it.

A Monster without the trellis is like breasts without nipples. Still pretty, but rather incomplete.

I was going to post a photo of boobs with nipples photoshopped out, and a picture of a really fat (lipid enriched for all you Politically correct people) individual just to demonstrate that boobs without nipples are not just fat. Then I read the forum rules....
With that said, I really enjoy the trellis frame and dry clutch. I know with advancement of R&D, old designs must go extinct as new technology replaces them. I'm going to find me a 999 for next season's track sessions.
that looks a little like the honda NAS, which unfortuinately was never built. That bike would cause me to sell my duc in a heartbeat.

Never heard of the Honda NAS....did a search & you are RIGHT. looks just like a 1199 sans fairing!!!
Beautiful Bike!!
ok. I have to COMPLETELY AGREE. the Honda NAS is the grandfather of the 1199 [bang]

nice.
if the NAS is suppose to be a street oriented sport bike, why did they give it a dry clutch?

understatement of the year.. that thing is just plane sick. Also consider, its a 10 YEAR OLD DESIGN! looks like it belongs on the show room floor today.. and it would still be cutting edge. Why they never build it, beyond me. People would snatch this thing up like hotcakes. Maybe the streetfighter scene wasnt mature enough when this came out. But the world is ready now!!!!

It never had a dry clutch.. it was never built. There was never a single verified report.. that that prototype ever even ran. It most likely was just a beautiful model.

Seriously? You know Ducati made street bikes for years with dry clutches that did just fine on the street.

Yes. I'm quite serious. I found dry clutch motorcycles much harder to ride than wet clutch in urban traffic. Maybe if I were a better rider, I would find dry clutch bikes easier to ride than wet clutch. With that said, the clutch on the 1199...
