Title: Hummingbird Moth
Post by: Monsterlover on September 02, 2012, 11:11:05 AM
This moth likes to visit our Butterfly bush and I was about to leave for a ride with the gopro so I got some video of it.

Pretty neat little thing.

I love those guys. I used to see them all the time at my old house.

cool critter!

I saw a plump Mr Toad emerge out from under my ground-level deck the other day

I think he is getting plump on the billion mosquitos hatching down there

Cool,I've never seen one before.Learn something new everyday.
We have tons of hummingbirds,my wife puts out two feeders but they are starting their southern migration.

We had a couple around this summer.

They even sound like a humming bird.

You can get surprisingly close before they slowly move on to another flower. Maybe one or two inches with your hand.

Saw my first in France around seven years ago, they are now in the UK, must be global warming or something.
