I was in college at the time and was totally bummed when I heard the news.

I was in college as well.

I remember hearing the first reports of the crash and at the time they were unsure if it was SRV or Clapton.

This may sound morbid but I actually was hoping it was Clapton.  Only for the reason that Clapton already had a career under his belt.

Both Austin City Limits shows were unbelievable!! [bow_down]

When I lived in Austin before he made it SUPER BIG we could see him play at Antone's on 6th Street and the cover charge was like a few bucks!

Good friend of mine that I just was dove hunting with got to hang out with SRV's brother, Jimmie, at a set Jimmie played here in Dallas not long ago. Had some cool group pics hanging out with Jimmie and his group on his cell. Neat stuff!

RIP SRV! I've have worn out a lot of his CDs and the one he cut with Jimmie is starting to skip. Time to order some more from Amazon! [thumbsup] [clap] [bacon]

I too, am super bummed that I never got to see Stevie play live.  He played in Ann Arbor a week or so before his passing, but I couldn't get anyone to make the 60 mile trek to see him.  :-\

Thankfully, there's a ton of great music that he created.

I do wish, however, that some of the bootleg videos would be of better quality.

One of my faves:
