Title: BST 6" rear on a 2009 M1100?
Post by: mickb on September 06, 2012, 12:23:41 AM
Hi,
I may be able to get a set of these (originally from an 848). Can anyone confirm whether they're a straight fit, as the rear is 6" ?

cheers.

You can check that by identifying where your current wheel is closest to the swingarm, chain and other hardware.
It needs a couple of mm clearance to non-moving parts, a little more for the wheel to move back and forth as you adjust the chain and a little more towards the chain.

Isn't an 848 SSS and the M1100 DSS?

I was pretty sure the 848 and M1100 use the same rear wheel.

I'm not sure at all...

hence the '?'.

edit...

so I checked the parts manual.

It is indeed a SSS.

[wrong again dear] ;D

848 and M1100 rear wheels are indeed interchangeable.....

.... but that isnt confirmation that these 6" BSTs will fit.

If my M1100 is a DSS, it means I've lost a bit  ;D

Thanks guys, did manage to find someone else who has done this, so looks good to go. Just need to find some sheckles now  :'(
