Title: where's ungeheuer?
Post by: ungeheuer on September 14, 2012, 06:43:45 AM
I often ride in places where there's no phone coverage.  Frequently in places where I don't encounter too many passers-by either.

So I bought one of these:

So if I end up broken and wounded up shit creek somewhere, at least they'll know where to find my corpse  [laugh]

Click the link below to follow my progress - or lack of it.   Whenever I have the device activated the map is updated every ten minutes.

If all you see is: "No displayable messages found for feed".... means there's been no activity recorded the last 7 days.  Try again later  :)

Yep that is why I'm practising cleaning a real shiny gun in the nude on the front porch! [laugh]

I microchip would be less embarrassing......for me!  ;)

Cool, I wish it gave a few more details, like distance traveled in total/between updates.

Yeah, that would be good.   Guess it would only be a vague indication anyway since all it does is record "as the crow flies" between each check-in.

Also I notice that even though its supposed to transmit a location check-in every 10 minutes, it goes missing under heavy tree coverage.  There was a couple of check-ins a half hour or more apart.

I use one of these while i am backpacking.  I have been thinking of carrying it on my motorcycle.  They are nice because there is the emergency button if something really bad happens but there are a couple ways to send emails from it.

BTW Ungerheuer, I ripped off your Ducati colours theme in your sig! Hope you don't mind.

Imitation is said to be the best form of flattery! LOL!

I'll buy you a drink when my brother and I get to catch up with you, hopefully sometime this Spring-Summer riding season.  [beer]

Mate, its not my original idea anyway.  Just quietly...... I ripped the colour scheme off the Italians   ;).

Still gonna hold you to that post  [Dolph]  drink though when the weather is more Duc friendly  [beer].

Allow me...

Ung came into TOSAT, and other threads in NMC, today doing his best pirate impression.

I have a young son that watches a show on Sprout called The Wiggles.

The Wiggles are a group of guys from OZ that have made a career, and a ton of money, doing kids entertainment.

They have a character named, coincidentally, Captain Feathersword.

Since the show was on the tv right behind me, and that character was on the screen, I felt obligated to misuse my moderator powers and change his name.

I'm sure he'll change it back when he's done being a pirate. ;D
