Title: My new S2R1k
Post by: Justang on June 29, 2008, 07:52:45 AM
2007 Ducati Monster S2R1000 with the full Termignoni exhaust and DP ECU.  has an open clutch cover so you can hear the sweet sound of the dry clutch, dropped a tooth on the counter-sprocket for more pull, did a tail chop and license plate relocator, put LED blinkers on, took off the reflectors/stickers, and changed to bar end mirrors.

4 days after having it I got my first ticket on it.  Heck, my first ticket in like 5 years.  So friggen easy to go fast on this bike, it's all torque.  He wrote me for 70+ in a 45.   I deserved it.  I pulled off a side street onto a main street, short shifted into second and romped on it.

Congrats. Good choice on the kit too. Spensive, but it's the short cut in the long run.

Sorry for the ticket though. I'm waiting for my federal court date for my last one. Apparently $500 fine wasn't enough, so I got the court date.

Good luck to you. [thumbsup]

Nice...I wish I had the DP ECU...but I already have aftermarket exhaust and can't see spending $1300 for the ECU alone.

Anyway, it is often hard to tell from pix but your rear tire seems to be worn like a friend's who used to have a 620...sorta triangular...flat-ish angled wear on the sides. I followed him one day and found out what caused the odd wear pattern. He was "riding the brake" in bends. On his rear brake most of the way through the bend.

Like I said, hard to tell from the pix but...if you do that...you shouldn't.

Good luck with the new bike and I know what you mean about tickets...Mine just screams to be "let out of its cage"!!

LOL.  I knew I'd get comments on the tires.  I'm still a bit skeerd to lean it over a lot.  I keep getting lower and lower, but I pucker up when I get too low.

I haven't noticed if I ride the rear brake in corners.  I'll watch out for that.  Thanks.

I got the turn signals from:  http://www.luckybike.com/

These are the signals I bought. (http://luckybike.com/super-stalk-turn-signals-power-led39s-1945-carbon-p-100.html?osCsid=955b10af391d02f9ce075956de787356)

I don't know if I'd do the "carbon fiber" look again.  Its not exactly what I expected.  The black ones (http://luckybike.com/super-stalk-turn-signals-power-led39s-1945-black-p-99.html?osCsid=955b10af391d02f9ce075956de787356) would do just fine.

Nice pictures of a great looking bike [thumbsup]

I noticed that your lower can is closer to the bike than the upper. On my bike they are mounted vertically in line. My problem is that I'm not able to tuck my right foot in as much as I'd like - because the lower pipe and it's heat guard is a bit too wide. The brackets on my lower pipe is mounted to the outside of the main/higher bracket - is your mounted on the inside?

Mine is mounted on the outside of the upper bracket.

Nice bike - it is almost identical to the way mine is set up, except mine has the Zard exhaust
