I grew up listening to him broadcast Auto Racing. Never be another like him.

Wow, sad news indeed. To be honest I would have bet he had passed already. I too grew up with his race broadcasts. He was the best. And I remember that Daytona race with Donnie and Cale swinging away while King Richard drove by for the win. The article is right, that was a huge turning point for NASCAR and of course Economaki was there. [popcorn] [bow_down]

Can't think of anyone today that is a name brand motorsports announcer of his caliber. He was as popular as Howard Cosell... well, let me rephrase that. He was as well known as Cosell and MUCH more popular! There, that's better. [laugh]
