^^ Awesome tribute.
Is T3 the one where there is the now-annual photo of him going through the turn completely sideways on a trajectory that defies physics? Google says it is.

It is. A fast, sweeping left hander that leads into a hairpin right. Stellar scenery too, with the Bass Straight just on the other side of it.
if you don't have a motogp.com sub they're selling a 2 for 1 deal for viewing both PI and Valencia. 15 euro, i think

and Jorge has to pit in because he can't see through his tears. I wonder if that's a legitimate reason to call a race?Set that track on fire Casey!

I hope he DESTROYS the entire field at PI, as a fitting F'you goodbye to the whole MotoGP circus.
Had it not been for his injury he would have walked away with the championship this year!
While I never was a big Casey fan, I have always recognised his talent, all the more so after watching Vale pedal the Duc around the track for the last 2 years. He deserves to go out on a high note.
GO CASEY!
He will destroy everyone on that track and MotoGP will produce an hour video of just him sliding his bike through all the corners in slomo.
As soon as the race is over he will make a douchebag comment and whine about something.
I'm going miss him.

So is Ducati looking for the next spectacular Aussie that can ride the Duc? We've had Bayliss and Stoner.....who is next? They better start looking hard if they haven't been! [coffee]
Say what you want about Casey. I did not understand the mysterious illness/walkout either, but that guy is one of the best and I hope motorcycle racing does not lose him altogether.
I don't mind his jabs at other people. Its good to hear relatively straight talk from a rider.

Lorenzo has a plan, however. At the press conference, the Factory Yamaha man told the media his plan was to latch onto the back of Stoner from the start and try to match his pace for the first couple of laps. That should be enough to break Pedrosa, and manage a gap all the way home.
Not to wish misfortune on Lorenzo, but I hope he does that, as it would end in tears, and then it'd all be to play for at Valencia.
True. Lorenzo said he would try to use Stoner as a "reference (point)" tto get away from Pedrosa. He showed considerable respect and sportsmanship in his attitude.
At PI, losing half a second per lap is on the average an 80 foot gap.
There's no draft at 80 feet behind, and the gap will be ~150 feet at the end of the straight.
That's getting left for dead.
Oh well
Holy shit Casey [bow_down]
Pedrosa is cursed to never win a premier class championship.
Poor little bugger.
He tried just a bit too hard going into Honda Corner.
Great to see Crutchlow on the podium, you gotta like the guy.
I was still happy for Lorenzo, he's become a decent fellow with maturity.
Stoner once again showed his freakish skill, 6 straight. It's a "riders track".
On the Aussie telecast, Stoner was given a beer holder by a fan that had a sexy picture of his wife Adrianna. It read, "Casey Stoner, I'd stay home too"! He really liked it and laughed. The TV station didnt show the picture.

Yeah, taking the only opportunity to even sniff a championship and running with it makes him an idiot. Why would you not go for broke if you found yourself in front. The only way Pedro even thinks about championship is winning out and/or hoping Jorge crashes. Give the guy credit for his year and showing everyone more racecraft and balls than anyone will give him credit for.
Pedro is an extraordinary racer... no doubt about that. He really stepped it up at the end of the year and I have a huge amount of respect for him.
But...
Anybody that thinks they can get ahead of Stoner at PI is an idiot. That's all.
I was pulling for Pedrosa to take the fight to Valencia, but I agree.....his champioship quest is over. Marquez will soak up all of the Repsol/Honda/Spanish attention and cash. Pedrosa cannot compete with the tidal wave of momentum Marquez will generate off the track. Whether he knows it or not, he will be there to help Marquez adjust, once he does Dani is done.

ummm....I am not sure you watched the same race I did...because what I saw was Casey get a shit start...Lorentho got the holeshot and Dani took it to him and went after him....Casey then worked his way past Jorge and was looking to set up Dani and Dani was pushing his zone to make his gap on what he was assuredly assessing as Jorge behind him because he, as a racer, was looking to take the fight for the championship to the wire, because that is what racers do...not that I am a dani fan....but I wanted an interesting race and I wasn't expecting or wanting that outcome to hapen to Dani...it wasn't good for the show IMHO.

I reckon this is true. Pedrosa was trying hard to keep Lorenzo and Stoner at bay and made a mistake pushing really hard. He was taking the fight to Lorenzo which was noble. If you know Honda corner you could see he ran too deep trying to out brake them and crashed trying correct his line and maintain the lead.
If Lorenzo pushed that hard and crashed he would be criticized for being stupid.
dani did exactly what he had to do, or tried. he needed to win that race and, just about by default, make sure george came in third. that's about the tallest order you could ever come up with when you're faced with holding off casey at PI but at least he tried. full credit to him, pedro came a LONG way this year. really anxious to see what happens next year.
yes, george deserves the title. yes, his results were exceptional. yes, he did what he had to do and did it very consistently. yes, he still annoys me. it's ironic that his manner of celebration just turns me off all the more. i should be excited for him but.. not so much.

PI is a wider/longer track and harder to keep someone behind you, but you may have said the same thing at 2008 Laguna when Rossi's only chance was to keep Stoner behind him. Stoner was a second a lap faster at that track too. Its a tall order, but it was Pedro's only chance.

You have to respect both Whoreghey and the Turd for the ridiculous job they've done all year. We can argue that if Stoner would have been in the mix, this might have looked totally different, but given the circumstances, you can't downplay the total dominance of these 2 guys.
It's still boring to watch how it all played out and unfortunately will be used as an excuse for dumb rule changes.
