Post by: El Matador on November 11, 2012, 04:41:38 PM
Hard to find the right words to express the immense gratitude towards all the amazing men and women in the Armed Forces.

Thank You.

A veteran is someone

who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank

check made payable to 'The United States of

America    ' for an amount of 'up to and

including my life.'

Hope every Vet had a great day and knows that we are all very grateful. From my deceased Dad, Uncle and Father in Law to my brother, brother in law and to everyone who has worn the uniform. Thank you and God bless. [thumbsup] [clap] [beer] I don't care if you loaded freight on a ship or C-130 or typed in an office you are a hero to me.

We visited our National Veterans Cemetery today.

Tomorrow we'll attend the parade....and Tuesday, Michelle and I get the honor of escorting two gentlemen back to DC to visit the WWII monument.

Jim Ash, Army Air Corps (and my pretty wife)

"The willingness with which our young people are likely to serve in any war, no matter how justified, shall be directly proportional to how they perceive how veterans of earlier wars were treated by their nation.”

HUGE +1... I can honestly say, as I get older, I see the value much more than I used to for those that have put themselves on the line for the rest of us...the humility and sacrifice equal every bit of the honor and respect you all deserve!!!

Your Veteran's day coincides with our rememberance day (signing of the world war 1 armistice  11-11-1918 at 11:00 am.)

My dear old dad on the right of this picture. circa 1945. Veteran of Burma, India and too many other places.

We used to call int Armistice day until 1945 when we changed the name to Veterans Day to include Vets from WWII and Korea.

Yesterday I got to give thanks to a WWII vet. That was special to me as I'm very interested in the history of that war. The Vet was very appreciative of my very small gesture.

Every time I see some one wearing a Vet hat, I make it a point to thank them for their service.
