I had a pair of the originals in Jr High when they first came out.  They only cost $64.

I bought the Vs for $100 in 1990 from a mom & pop store in small-town-Michigan where I had shopped at for years.  Unfortunately, the stitching on the toe started coming apart less than a week later.  I was about to leave for basic training and didn't want them falling apart on me anymore after I had left so I took them back.  I showed the owner the shoes and she accused me of ripping them apart.  I told her I didn't and since she wouldn't replace them, I wanted my money back.  I don't know what was going on in that woman's mind but she went from her typical soft-spoken self into Kathy Bates-Misery mode.  After listening to her yell at me, I told her I was going to call Nike and complain about the store.  She ended up hitting me and banned me from the store.  I sent the shoes to Nike and they had no problem replacing them and apologized.  22 years later, I'm still in disbelief.  That was my last pair of Jordans.  Hopefully you have better luck with the IVs!  [cheeky]  What are they running now about $175-200?!

wow, what a crappy experience!

i picked up the retro Vs and IIIs last year. i have only worn the Vs a few times and so far so good. the IIIs have been fine too. I think i paid about $150 for the Vs and IIIs and this year the IVs were $160. Horribly over priced, I know, but its a nostalgic thing for me. looks like the IIIs may be worth about $200 now and the Vs about $300. but that is probably unworn and i dont really plan on selling them anyway.

I spent an hour in line last week for the IVs and got nothing, then almost 2 hours online and got nothing. I finally called around a few places in metro detroit and found a store that somehow hadnt sold out yet. The manager was actually super nice and held the pair until i could get there even though they werent supposed to.
