Have a bike painted by our flounder DP? Here's the place to show it off.
I'll go first. My wife's S2R. [Dolph] [Dolph]

officially my favorite thread on the board. also, I just realized the because I have a new monster, when decide to paint mine I can just take the tank, fender, and rear cowl off and ship it to this guy while i continue to ride [thumbsup]
The previous owner of my bike was on the old board with the name Bug. He told me the tank was painted by DucPainter. I do like the subtle logo.

I was wondering who picked up his bike...specially since he went all SUMO and dirty again....LOL
Roberts (former) 1000 is sharp. if I hadn't pickuped up my 900 not long before he decided to sell, I'd have been all over.

This is the balls man. It's nice to see someone go with something other than ohlins on a build...IMHO the marzocchi red looks just as good if not better than the gold would here...I've always run marzocchi on the mountain bikes and I was stoked to find out my 1100 has them too...
On a side note, if you can get your hands on it, the marzocchi product catalogs always have a whole lot of eye candy...
We cannot forget this one:

My favorite of all the bikes I painted for that guy was 'Van's Shovel'.
The pics on his site really don't express how it looked. The thing was on fire. I have pics of the pieces under incandescent lighting that really bring it to life.
It was the first flake job I ever did and it was perfect...really.
I'll never do any better.
Van's Shovel

Nice. This is definitely one that I'd like to see up close to fully appreciate.

The bike was being shot for the Wall Street Journal leisure section.
The photog figured the wall street types couldn't handle the flash...
so he dumbed it down.
This is how it looked in incandescent light pre pinstripe...the pics don't show the hand done (not by me) gold stripe...even wilder in the sun.

It was truly alive.
I did some other bikes for him that moved me in the color realm. He's removed it from his site.

Van was the customer of that bike. I actually got to meet him and some of the other people that bought Walt's bikes.
The collaboration coulda been a match made in heaven...just got make the beast with two backsed up.

You can go to waltsiegl.com
I did everything in '08, 9 and '10.
He's redone his site recently and removed a series of bikes modeled after the 'Four Speed'.
Not to drop names...
a certain actor that is known to be a rider has one of them...
I'm not sure where the rest ended up.

DucPainter is responsible for my being a Ducati Monster owner. I was late to motorcycling, at age 38 I bought this 1997 M750 from a guy and it had a dent on both sides of the tank from being dropped.
I sent the tank, seat cowl, and front cowl to Duc Painter. He repaired the dents in the tank, strengthened the tank hinge, POR-15 coated the inside of the tank, applied period correct Ducati logos, and painted them all to match with the period correct silver-sparkle paint that is the signature Ducati 750 color.
Because he did such an AMAZING job, I ended up investing a huge amount of money in the rest of the bike and now own my dream Ducati Monster. She is a classic. She never fails to get a compliment where ever I stop.
Duc Painter is a true master at his craft.
Not a great photo, taken with my cell phone, in bad light, but here she is:

We had talked for months about taking my bike out to Red Rocks and doing some glamour shots before I left Las Vegas. Sadly, I never got around to it. Here's my piss poor photography of another stupendous job.

Any significance to the lowercase "i" in DUCATi on the tank?
That bird of some sort needs something to land on.

I don't recall, and I have no pics.

Indeed, THE Eagle. [laugh]
I got the idea as homage a '69 Scrambler 450 (450 x 2=900, get it? [drool]) and as tribute to my recently passed pup Anna, whose nickname was Anna Banana.
The stickers I got from Road and Race in Australia when I was restoring my '69 350. I don't know when or long Ducati used the "Thuroughbred of Motorcycles" logo, but it was on my '69's tank.
The sticker, being a repro, is kind of messed up in the the "U" isn't bold like the rest of the letters, but the lower case "i" is correct.
When I find the time and the money, I'm going to have Nate do the spare set of bodywork I bought for when my stuff was off being painted in orange.
Or maybe an orange version of the S2R style with black stripes, I haven't decided.
BTW, this reminds me. This is the Monster 20 anniversary. The subjects of this thread, and any other monster forum.org bikes belong here if haven't put yours. It's gonna be mid-fifties here this weekend so I'm gonna try to get some good shots of mine around the city to post.

At last the weather cooperated somewhat, so I could make the tank swap. Painted by DP last November; I had to wait until yesterday to
work on it.

Given that its a bird when its on the left and an eagle when its on the right, when its on the back of the tank it must be a swan. Unless the bike is facing east.
i heard it was a stork that delivers little baby ducatis
