...may that crazy beat play on [clap].
Take 5 Dave.
I met Dave Brubeck when I was a little boy. My good friend lived in Wilton Conn. and we went over to Brubeck's new house to play with his sons and he answered the door.We all went swimming in his pool.
RIP Mr. Brubeck.
Crap. that makes me sad.
We are better for having heard somebody truly outside the box.
Great musician, GREAT musicians in the Brubeck quartet. Take 5 is easily one of my all-time favorite tunes (and one I do live with my pop a LOT), along with Blue Rondo ala turk. The guy was a musical genius. RIP Dave...
Normally I play acoustic now 98% of the time, especially gigging, but I recorded a crappy little clip on a little tascam recorder I have of Take 5 on an electric. Check the linky if interested... lol. It doesn't do that great song justice, but I'll post it as a small tribute to Mr. Brubeck:

Nice playing. I enjoyed it.
Here's another one of my favorite Brubeck tune - Kathy's Waltz.
Thanks, Dave, for the great music. May you rest in peace.

No, you studied at his. ;)
Been listening to him solid since Weds. Yesterday would have been his 92nd birthday. RIP Dave and I hope you, Miles and Coltrane are having the best jam ever.
Take 5 is my favorite jazz tune ever.
I mentioned this tune to a buddy's kid's son, who plays bass in a band. I told them they really needed to create a rock instrumental cover.
