Title: Dr Oz Detox
Post by: ab on December 28, 2012, 10:06:23 AM
A friend of mine suggested to try the 3 day Dr Oz detox.  Anyone try it?

Dr. Oz isn't exactly the oracle of medically safe ideas.

Reading the recipe, it didn't look too bad - lots of fruits and veg blended into a drink.

Kale, spinach, raspberry, blueberry, flax seed, lemon, lime, banana, coconut water, mango, avocado, stevia and supplements -  probiotic , multivitamins ......

Not familiar with his work.  What bad advices did he give ?

His ideas on weight loss and diet often just off.  He also promotes "snake oil" remedies & weight loss products.  The most recent useless weight loss rage was Raspberry Keetones.

Check out Standard Process: http://www.standardprocess.com/Standard-Process/Purification-Program (http://www.standardprocess.com/Standard-Process/Purification-Program)

I've done their cleanse a couple times, have a few other friends who gave it a go. Nothing crazy and recommended by a nutritionist, as well as a ND that I know personally.

If you follow it religiously, I'm sure you will notice a difference. If you're a caffeine addict (like me), the first week can be rough.

Micronutrient rich diets with fresh fruits and vegetables works great.
I've seen weight loss in family members and friends that have followed a "juicing" diet.
