I can tell already that this will not end well. I can deal with it not being OK to discuss politics or religion, as long as the rules are enforced fairly and evenly. But when some are allowed to cross the line and others are not, that does not sit well with me. If nothing else, it makes it very hard to tell where the line is, when it is defined with bias or arbitrarily. Last time I dealt with this, with these same people, that was the end problem, and I can already see that happening again, so I'm leaving now.

What did I do now? ???

The mods don't read every post-this is what we have board guidelines and a "report to mod" button.
Dare I point out that this board, like most other things, is run by real live people who probably can't get it right every time?
I don't see the point of this-you either actually left and will never see any response (so why post?) or are hoping we'll gnash and wail about your impending departure, in which case you'd reluctantly stay.
Seems utterly juvenile.

Not to add fuel to the flames but I regularly see people getting away with the same shit mods lambast others for.
It all depends on who your friends are and aren't.
There is a definitive double standard on this board.
But I also take it with a grain of salt. I am not the one paying for the board so...
If the admins want to arbitrarily enforce their rules to some and not others, it is their right. But people who think it doesn't happen are just fooling themselves.
Anyway, I have nothing else productive to add to the conversation.
I, personally, will miss Phil. He rides his Monster more than dozens of people on this forum combined and has interesting stories to share. But I guess that isn't what we are about 'round these here parts. [cheeky]

I would take it with a grain of salt too. The best thing is to avoid talking politics or religion here and not worry about what other people are doing. If you get reprimanded then back off. The problem shouldn't be bad enough that you have to leave.
Now if I were to make a stand, it'd be about the lack of boob pics. Man, I love boobs.

as I see it...no one is telling Phil he has to leave or anything like that....he is making a choice of his own, for which, while I disagree with it, it is a choice he is willingly making on his own...

All true.
BTW, sometimes if you say "in before the lock," mods avoid locking the thread. So as to appear to not be influenced by outsiders. Just some fun I like to have here.

Yes. You should spend more time there.

If you do not specifically click "log out" then the login cookie remains. If he logged in last time (say, on Jan 10th) and clicked to stay logged in, it will show him as logged in pretty much forever.
i really can't blame the guy for feeling a little burned about getting called out by a flounder for his participation in a thread right after another moderator +1'd (and smiley'd) his post.
edit: minor correction
Feeling a little burned and crying home to Mama are two different things.

That is incorrect.
You can click the forever button to stay logged in, but the forum software cancels your session after 15 minutes of inactivity.

You dont need to voice your opinion in every thread, especially since being called out in the past. Im sure everyone has started to say something then hit the back button thinking it went too far or a little too inappropriate for an online forum.I wish more would do it since somethings are better left unsaid. Besides....its THEIR playground, dont like the rules....

Look, when you get part of the vernacular of a board named after you, you get to post where you want.
This snippiness due to the winter blahs?
I recommend buying some moto swag and installing it. Two items, if they're small.

Wait.
What?
This thread is about a guy pregnant doging on a soapbox? ???
I thought this thread had evolved into a number of responses that pile on without regards to what the original topic was.
;D
C'mon.
Everybody knows a flight of responses with vague, loosely tied topic matter is what nonsense threads evolve to.
