Gosh, I see you east coasters are FREEZING!!!
LOL...84* & sunny here but I have no bike...... [thumbsdown]
I made the mistake of walking outside with no jacket to fill the bird feeder this morning. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr in Ohio
It was balmy here in NH...
got all the way to +3 with windchills of -16.
I have no idea of this cold you speak about. :P
I went outside a few times today for 5-10 minutes each time in with no jacket and a short sleeve shirt, no big deal
I did put on a jacket when I ran out to load some stuff from my garage onto a guy's trailer though
We had our cold front come through here in Austin but last couple days in mid 70s. Nearing 80* this weekend
10 at my house this AM
Far E side of WA state
We've been in the teens at night, and round 20º-30º highs the past couple days. It's chilly. Plus, sand and salt on all of the roads makes riding a bit hazardous.

I usually stop when they start salting and won't go out again until a good rain gets rid of the salt but otherwise will go out down into the 20's

You're a trooper. I stoped when it got below 40.
yeah its cold we Northeners are just used to it. :P
I'm with Lethe. I do, so long as the sand/salt isn't an issue. Somewhere, there is a picture of my bike parked on front of bank sign showing 9ºF

one of these days I'll get around to getting heated gear too, rather than wearing layers and being uncomfortable [laugh]

Yep. I've been afraid to add heated gear because Molly's (1999 M750) electrics can barely keep the battery charged. I've just stuck to layers with a nice Tourmaster coat/pants over everything to keep me from being totally frozen!
Ducatirigrl - Sorry, already married. Find your way south and I can at least show the roads these NC/TN mountains are known for!

They're some cold temps alright, temps I honestly dont understand.
It's 100+ here. 8)
Morning and evening rides only, midday in a cool spa with [beer]. The air temps aren't the problem for me as I like the heat, it's the UV index.
Wind and firebugs are another problem.

Cant help you out with the marriage thing either sister.
An alternative suggestion is to move to Vancouver where it doesn't get down anywhere near -22 f
Gonna be cool on the east coast of Oz too, 25 deg C and rain. Might have to get my mittens and woolly hat out of storage.
Oh 77 f and rain. My oh my that is cold. I feel sorry for you. ;)
make the beast with two backsing cold here too.
And no snow. >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(
Calling for A LOT of ice up in the morning here.
JM
Spent time on the track today. It was in the 70s. It was in the low 60s when I was on the track over the weekend. Brrrrr.
;D
With those temps, at least your daiquiri's won't melt. [beer]

But the limes will instantly freeze solid and you will chip a tooth.

I don't require a lime with my tequila. Hell, I rarely use salt really, but when it's this plentiful, why not?

Exactly, training wheels are only needed in the beginning.
no kidding about your alcohol stayign cold, i was in the garage yesterday and my beer never got warm!!! its awesome!!! [laugh]
My commute is only 4 miles with the speed limit being 35 pretty much the whole way, so I don't think the current 20ish temps would be too bad. I'd ride to work if I had a garage to keep my bike in. Otherwise it would probably take me 15 minutes to get it started, by which time I would likely have changed my mind and gotten in the car.

after some thought, I have decided that I will do the green card marriage with ducatigirl.
my conditions are that you have to bring poutine and you can't be a vocal habs fan.

I feel romance in bloom.
Yay, cold winter for inspiring love among the masses.
May you two have a dozen red bearded children, a few boys among them even.

But we really, really, really need it.
And thankfully, not horribly cold.
