well....I can't delete or merge the thread...so hopefully DP or some other mod will dispose of it properly...but what I said in there I'll put here...
we have all read articles of how Speed is going to morph into FoxSports whatever and a lot of racing is going bye bye...but to put into the print what we have assumed just kinda makes it surreal and freaks me out a lil bit...makes me wish even more that there was something like what MotoGP.com does for race coverage for WSBK....

lol, sorry.
this will unblock the online region restrictions for things like the BBC iplayer (which i assume shows WSBK). if that assumption is correct, then at least you can watch it online.
there are other options out there like tunnelbear, however that one costs a little $

You don't need to upload...just let your client run while you're at work and seed.
It's the same...all about sharing.

Like DP said, you just need to leave your PC seeding while you're at work.

yup
Yeah...didn't use it much shortly before they went away so didn't really know about the change over until it was too late. Sad thing is, I am seeding other stuff 24/7/365. :-\
so...pardon my ignorance and not to go off topic...but seeding = keeping your computer on a site to help feed traffic to it for as long as possible?

To file share you need to install software...a client...that allows your computer to connect to other computers to upload to or download from your computer.
The client runs in the background using some bandwidth, that can be adjusted to your needs, and you are seeding. You can configure your client to shut off at a certain ratio, or you can just continuously seed the files you have on your computer.
I use utorrent. There are many out there.

the thing I find funny....DORNA truly has their head up their asses on this....American's loves themselves some Teevee...you now have 3 races promoted in the home country of which you have no way to promote otherwise or tap into the populous or get a broader appeal outide of the current motorcyclists who may happen to be local to those events or read the interwebz....showing the short sitedness of themselves....1st it was post tobacco lack of advertising sponsors being tapped...now a lack of visability for the sport...what's next...a lack of bikes on the grid beyond 10?
Quote from: zooom on February 14, 2013, 12:46:31 PM

...or maybe speed/fox does? "the series" doesn't pay the network for broadcast time. the network pays "the series" for content and then tries to make a profit selling advertising in those blocks.
for some reason or other, the deal isn't pencilling for one or both of the parties.
i do find it odd that the "odd man out" between the two dorna series is the one that doesn't have an "in house" subscription internet streaming solution. maybe, just maybe, with no broadcast deals in place, we in the states will finally get an "official" way to stream the content from worldsbk.com.
either way, i'll just feel less-bad about getting said programming elsewhere.

assuming the BBC iPlayer (their online sports watching thingy) shows WSBK (i think it does..?), just go to the hola.org link earlier in this thread. it's simple.
Just FYI-
I installed Hola today, and immediately was watching the Welsh Snooker Championships on BBC.....
Worked great - looking forward to WSBK!

Seriously. Anyone? Puhlease . . . .
For all that I try to follow racing (AMA, WSBK & WSS, MotoGP), other than
sometimes getting a MotoGP subscription, I pretty much rely on SPEED for live coverage and the interwebz for news stories and gossip. I think I have a membership to that-which-shall-not-be-named, but have never used it.

Moto racing is just not popular in the States, not enough revenue to broadcast it. TV coverage needs ratings. You could always move to Europe. :D

From what I understood, BeIN would stream the race online.
If you think about it... this works out pretty well for BeIn actually.
Pretty much gets every motorcycle racing fan in the US to start watching their channel right off the bat vs Speed who really didnt care at all for the demographic.
watch the spike in viewership go up and likely the marketing with it....

I have Direct TV and live in Los Angeles. It's on the BeIN channel from 4:30-9:30 pm this Saturday. When I called Direct TV they said it was part of a "sports packlage" that would cost between $12-$20/ month (lots of soccer normally - argh). They couldn't help me out because their computers were down. Will check when I get home tonight though.
It cost me ten bucks a month for brighthouses sports package.
5 hour difference means I'll have a long night on Saturday. I need to check if I can stream it.

well, let's see... f1 is now on nbcsports, worldsbk is now on bein, and motogp is available on motogp.com.
unlesss nbcsports is part of the package you sub'd to for speed, i'm thinking you can cancel one and get the other AND subscribe to motogp.com for their superior coverage.

My Macbook is too old to support the newer version of Firefox and in turn, Hola will not work for me. It is also too old for Google Chrome and there isn't anything for Mac according to the website.
I don't get beIN so unless they stream it for free on the website, I'm not sure how to watch the races.

Oh BeIN I love you so.

Let's start the broadcast with generous super pole highlights! Wait. What? Can it be? Is this how it's done in Europe? Free health care, copious amounts of smelly cheese, and this? Why oh why did my grandfather ever leave the land of Agostini? But this is only an appetizer letting us know how our riders fared during super pole on their shiny 2013 mounts. You know with the new 3 bikes per row grid and all. Ooh that Panigale looks badass...
But there's more. Long, languorous close-ups of these beautiful super bikes. Then pan to the riders in the paddock. Stoner's boner these bikes are gorgeous. Even the Suzuki. Good luck with that one Leon...
It's like I'm dreaming. This must be how NASCAR fans feel when they watch SPEED all week. But no time for that. Here comes the race. And it's still Jonathan Green and Steve Martin and the race coverage we're used to seeing on SPEED. But there's ...something...different. It's lap 20! Where are the commercials? Holy Fabrizio there aren't any! Wow, on to the victory lap, the podium, interviews and finally a break in the broadcast. I'm out of wine, time for a refill...
Now we're at the BeIN broadcast center where a woman with wonderfully large breasts (though admittedly dog-faced) is telling us about football. But the ball is way different and no one is wearing pads. Oh soccer. If you put a gun to my head I couldn't even tell you how many guys are on a soccer team. But who cares? It's time for Super Sport! I didn't even think that was going to be in the coverage. Wonder if Sofuoglu is going to head butt anybody on the back straight this year?
[popcorn]
Sweet tap-dancing Bayliss, look at those grid girls...

The Aragon races are listed in my DirecTV guide on BeIN...checked this morning. There's a 2 hour 40 minute block starting around 5 am. [thumbsup]
I am not sure BeIN is fast in updating their program schedule with certain providors...for the Philip Island race, it read as Soccer in the program guide until like a day or 2 beforehand....
Checked BeIn sports webpage this morning and they now have WSBK coming on at 5 AM Central time and running until 9:40 AM Central time. [thumbsup]
Has anyone had success streaming the practice yet? Started almost 10 minutes ago
