Best price/shipping.
what website should I buy from?
Do any of you have one for sale?
for 09 696
monsterparts is out of stock.
Leaning towards Commonwealth
I got one from eBay, perfect condition, 100 bucks and 10 for shipping, YMMV!
I've been monitoring Ebay but haven't been able to find anything.
I just bought from Commonwealth Ducati (one of our Sponsors) for $239 (member pricing). Free shipping. I'm pretty happy with it.
I found mine brand new on eBay for about $10 cheaper, shipped then retail.
Keep an eye out...
What do you guys think of the comfort seat? The stock seat is a bit hard on my skinny tush bones.
Don't expect too much from the "comfort seat", it takes some time in the saddle for it to let your seat bones sink in! Of course, I am tainted by experience with a Rick Mayer seat!
I've read a lot of great reviews of the comfort/touring seat from ducati. Of course there are better seats out there, but I don't have 500 bucks to spend right now.
How much do you guys think I could get for my old seat on ebay?
I paid $210 shipped, for mine. Looks like the prices went up on the seat since I bought mine.
I just looked on eBay, and there's a seat for sale from Reno's motorsports. I bought my full exhaust from them after haggling the price down, they agreed to come down a lot. I would email them and ask them to sell it to you for $200 shipped OTD for starters, come up to $220 OTD shipped, at the most. ;)

I dont see the seat for sale on ebay from them

Email them and ask for a lower price, they worked with me, can't hurt.
I'll ask.
I doubt they will take 257.30 plus $20 shipping down to $220, but as my dad always said: "it never hurts to ask"!!!!
also thanks danaid

Hot set-up IMO. http://www.sargentcycle.com/ducws6961000.htm (http://www.sargentcycle.com/ducws6961000.htm) Also a bit flatter.

Yes yes. They are the best. Also their headquarters is in jacksonville. Ab 25 mins away feom my house. They are the best but but were just out of my budget.
I got the comfort seat last weekend. I like that its sends you less into the tank as the stock seat (796 seat) I was hopping it would be flatter. Think I'm going to have my stock seat redone to look a little like the diesel monster seat.
I am going to talk to Rick Mayer about rigging my seat. He is only a couple of hours North in my old hometown. I can do a ride in and get the thing tweaked as my bum burns on the stock seat after just about 30 miles.

Wouldn't suggest that he's not capable but possibly more used to big BMW's. ;) Price for a mod from Meyer is the same as a complete Sargent made for the bike on their lightweight pan. With stops I'm good for 300+ miles now and I'm an OLD fart! 8) Bear in mind, if you don't like the Sargent, you can send it back within 30 days for a refund less UPS.
Rick does seats for all sorts of bikes, including dirt bikes. The difference in his seats is that they are fitted to your butt, and if it doesn't work right he will fix it. He uses several different kinds of foam including a viscous elastomer under the sit bones, and the seats are good for all day in the saddle, not just a few hours! Mine is going to be done May first.
No affiliation, just a very satisfied customer!
Sargent makes great seats, but a custom seat will be more comfortable if you have someone close enough and can afford it.
I had a Sargent seat on my old Multistrada and it was nice. I had a Rich's custom seat on my M900, and it was nothing short of fantastic. Pricey though, but I'd do it again for sure if I had a bike I planned on using to tour.
