I am thinking of buying some Rizoma reservoirs. Might go with a two of the smaller clutch size reservoirs for the top. Any thoughts on using a 20 instead of the larger 40?
If its single disc a 20 is adequate. I got the 40 because it's faster to change fluid after track days when I did them. Dual should probably get a 40 but I'm guessing.
These are one of my next mods as well. I think they make a huge difference in the "looks" department.
i have the two medium side-outlets on my 01 M900 with dual disks
works fine
Volume doesn't matter for functionality. A larger one just makes it easier to bleed the system since there is more fluid volume in the cup. Get whichever size you like. [thumbsup]
Thanks! I am a going to be happier with the smaller reservoirs in a purely aesthetic manner of course. I am going to go with the Black Rizoma Next reservoirs so that I can easily see the fluid level/brake wear.
Thanks! [beer]
You get these bad boys installed yet?!?
Waiting for one reservoir to show up still and will do all three at the same time. Gonna hate bleeding them but will use some clear tubing to exit the fluid somewhere far from the bike.
A mityvac was priceless for me. If you're only changing out resivoirs, you can get by without bleeding the system. What I did was keep pinching the hose to the master until the air bubbles stopped. Pinching the hose displaces the air in it with fluid I guess. Either way it worked for me.
Thanks Grubby that was my first plan. Seems I could just pinch it off high, change the reservoir, refill and burp from the line. as long as I don't let an air bubble happen it should be good. I will try that before breaking out the tools.
You should be ok with that. I changed mine so both reservoirs are the standard clutch 15cc. I fitted shorter straight brackets (fom ebay) so they are tucked away by the screen. Only minor problem is that fluid is at an angle in the tilted reservoir, so I might file the bracket in due course.
