Title: John "4-rotor" Huijben
Post by: Speeddog on April 27, 2013, 02:03:30 PM
Some time back, someone had a thread or mentioned a kid in the Netherlands building a 4-rotor Mazda.

I've been watching it since then, here:
http://www.rx7club.com/build-threads-294/4-rotor-fc-build-974831 (http://www.rx7club.com/build-threads-294/4-rotor-fc-build-974831)

Really an epic build, on par with the guy who built a flawless Countach replica in his basement (http://jalopnik.com/5069251/exclusive-i-am-the-guy-with-a-lamborghini-in-the-basement (http://jalopnik.com/5069251/exclusive-i-am-the-guy-with-a-lamborghini-in-the-basement)), or the guy who built a replica works boardtrack racer (http://flashbackfab.com/excelsior-project-paul-brodie/ (http://flashbackfab.com/excelsior-project-paul-brodie/))

Anyway, he recently assembled the engine:

Go check the thread out, it's a really astonishing build.

Bravo to this kid indeed. 3+ rotor engine noises send tingles up my spine. I recommend youtubing the Mazda Furai and the 787B.

That's so cool, I've got to go back and see the rest of the build thread.

Thanks ML for finding that!

I wish it weren't so insanely expensive to build a multi rotor. I'd really like to do one.

Now I really miss my Rx4 and series 4 turbo...

Cannot imagine trying to drive that 6 rotor....

I wanted to try to get a 20b into a series 8...

The good old days. ..

Sounds neato at idle too.

5000cfm carb on the back of that thing? ;D

Also, with it mounted at the back like that, wouldn't the "cylinders" up front be kinda starved for fuel?
