I just got my first suit (Alpinestars Carver) and it's got quite a bit of white leather. I came back from my first ride and the bugs we extremely obvious on the white portions.
What cleaners or treatments do you guys & gals recommend??
Ive got a Dianese race suit from 1998. Its dry and crusty likes its owner, so Im also interested in peoples suggestions. [popcorn]
I use soap+water + microfiber rag to clean. Than I apply some glycerine.
Water is not a friend to leather. It dries it out once evaporated.
Go here: http://www.fiebing.com/catalogue/conditioners-cleaners/ (http://www.fiebing.com/catalogue/conditioners-cleaners/)
Get the leather 4 Way cleaner spray and some of the Liquid Mink Oil or the Aussie.
Clean with the 4 Way and let dry. Then apply the oil or paste with a microfiber cloth in circular motions.
I make custom leather chopper seats and these are the products I use.
Fiebings makes the best leather products. Check out their dye section if you want to improve or change your leather colors.
Water won't dry or\and damage if glycerine applied.

Agreed. Though I prefer the oil based products. As long as some kind of flexible protectant is applied the leather should be fine.
Sweet. Now I've got a couple of good places to start.
thanks
Thanks guys.
Lexol. Any auto parts store carries it
I bought a bottle of Leather Honey recently and I love it.

For bug removal, I use hot water on a cotton rag, let soak for about a minute. This will soften the bug juice up and should wipe off without much elbow grease involved. Hang suit on appropriate hanger after bug removal and let dry completely, For suit treatment, find something with silicon, and lanolin oil. Lightly wipe the entire suit with this and reapply again in a few hours, let hang for another day. Then wipe down entire suit again with clean dry rag.
I use this stuff,

This is the exact same product that Dainese rebrands and calls it their leather cleaning kit. You can find the stuff for half the price and double the size as the Dainese kit from on-line dealers. Leather Masters cleaners are from Italy and are recommended and used by a lot of leather jacket and furniture manufactures.
$20.00 for a "motorcycle Kit" from leather masters at this link. Might be cheaper elsewhere but it was easy to find. http://www.autogeek.net/motorcycle-leather-master-kit.html (http://www.autogeek.net/motorcycle-leather-master-kit.html)

Yes ^ that is actually the cleaning kit relabeled by Dainese!
You can purchase the stuff a bit cheaper by just purchasing the leather protection cream and the strong cleaner separately, the kit just throws in some tiny sponges and wiping cloth.
