Title: new 696 owner
Post by: ottobot on April 30, 2013, 04:52:06 PM
Just bought a 2010 696.
Live in London, Canada.
Tell me what you think about the bike. I'm thinking about getting the low seat and changing the rearsets to the Rizoma ones.
Sorry for the editing on the pictures, the lighting was bad.

Welcome - looks like you have Rizoma rearsets already. Am I missing something?

Low seat? There's a lower one? Do you have a short inseam - or?

looks like the stock seat and those aren't Rizomas, at least none I've seen before.

Nicely done though.
I'm sure someone will like your rearsets if you sell them off here.

I've heard the lowseat isn't waterproof? might make a difference if you ride in the rain.

and lighting may have been due to the fork  reflectors still being on the bik e  [roll]

The rearsets are Valter Moto racing type 3. I told the dealer to order the Rizoma ones and they ordered the wrong ones. They gave me a discount, but I don't think it's worth it because these dont support passenger pegs (which I would kind of like to have).
I've heard that the low seat isn't water proof, but The reason I want it is because I've read that the riding position is a bit further back, and a bit softer on the 'nads. Definitely not an inseam issue, I'm 6'.
As for the reflectors, I think removing those may be my first order of business in the morning  [laugh]

look into Style and Performance passenger pegs.
you can use them with any aftermarket front rider pegs.
they attach to the subframe.

i got over the 'nads issue by scooting back in the seat and grabbing the tank with my knees. get some tank grips to help.

the style and performance passenger pegs look awesome. Do you know any way to get them shipped to Canada or the US? It looks like theyre only available in Europe.
